But I get why OP made a secret of it. You can say such a thing OUTSIDE of fandom and nobody will bat an eyelash, but saying it off anon in a fandom space is a great way to get dogpiled.

Depends on the space and the fandom. A lot of the people who point out issues in the things they like tend to get dogpiled. There are usually more people who can't take criticism of what they like than people who are willing to admit its flaws. Also, if you're watching something that people may find offensive, SJWs probably won't watch it, and therefore won't be in that fandom's spaces.
