Their lack of comprehension was so astounding. And then they didn't even try to figure out what he meant. You'd think if you love someone as much as they said they love Miyazaki you would at least spend five minutes trying to understand him.

In short, it was beautiful.

Oh, where did you see the wank? I mostly stuck to ANN where people were agreeing with him and other people were so upset at him for saying something bad about their otaku pandering garbage. Calling him a grumpy, senile old man, etc. He does have shades of being a bit outdated for example his views on technology, but when it comes to what he says about the anime industry, he's right. So fucking right.

Tumblr. They started saying he compared the iPad to the war in Iraq. He didn't. I blocked that post and all like it since so I couldn't tell you more about it.

Yup. Mostly because the writer or the article said he was critical of both, and other things. So tumblr, being tumblr, did its thing and vomited stupid over all my chairs. (My chairs representing my ability to care.) Now the chairs are ruined so I threw them out.

Maybe you came late to the game? Because early on it was all bad stuff. Now everything seems to have shifted over.
