Her entire character makes no goddamned sense. Literally none. This show is just not realistic with it's development. Why on earth would she be thrown in an asylum after talking with the cops? Has anything like that ever happened in America at any time past the 19freakin'50s? No. No it hasn't. She travels all over the world for this man? On her own? Really? She's never once gotten into any issues? Or maybe run into any foreign governments? If she's so great at dodging government organizations then how did she manage to get herself jammed into an institute to begin with? How did she even get out to do this espionage bullshit in the first place?

It just doesn't make any logical sense. None of the character development is A+. Plotholes. So many plotholes!

It's a supernatural procedural. It's not supposed to be, I don't know, The Wire or something.

There were Moloch's forces (specifically the female doctor who committed suicide) keeping her there because she kept her memories of Moloch and they didn't want that getting out too early. And after that Jenny escaped, stole things, told them about supernatural forces etc. so it was easy for them to keep her locked up, especially with no-one advocating for her.

Well, it's not like she wasn't institutionalized as an adult, she was barely a teenager when she did first go in and has been pretty much in a revolving door (as we learn later that it was done by will). Plus from what the show said, Jenny was going around talking about what happened in the forest which no person would believe in and think that Jenny was severely unhinged from the scenario.

Plus what Abbie said earlier in the series, their parents were one who were gung-ho in institutionalizing Jenny after the incident.

Plus why is it important that she travels alone? She was already an adult and already honed by her time in the streets so she knows how to handle herself. Women travel alone all the time, the hell? It's not like Corbin could travel with her considering his job and looking over Abbie as well.

You're missing an important part of the traveling alone. Jenny wasn't backpacking across Europe, she was hunting down information Corbin needed about the four horsemen and the coming apocalypse, work that the series has already established as very dangerous since it attracts the attention of the demonic forces. On the non-paranormal side, it's clear she's also dabbed in arms running and other illegal activities, which is also not a stroll in the park.

A woman who does all that by herself with no back up who suddenly quails at the thought of saving a little girl... well, that looks OOC.

She says that, at times, she got herself *intentionally* locked up so that she would not go and hurt her sister. She wasn't sporadically crappy at dodging the government - she used the government to lock her up somewhere secure when she felt she was endangering her sister. It takes a bit of mental somersaults to separate this from the fact that, when she first showed up, she was pretty pissed at Abbie, seemingly for being locked up. But that was really more for Abbie's betrayal of her in the past.

You can definitely be put into a psych ward after speaking to the cops. All you have to do is say something that indicates you're wanting to hurt yourself and/or others. (Just having mental health issues is not enough.) They'd usually be required to get you into a ward to be evaluated, at the very least. And that's without supernatural or demonic influences.

"Sleepy Hollow" actually has a lot less plotholes than 90% of shows involving cops.
