Now I want to see supernatural stuff used as a midlife crisis metaphor! That could be so interesting.

What if it's a supernatural creature who relies on seduction to feed (like a incubus or mermaid?) and has to deal with it's monstrous nature becoming harder to hide as it gets older. Like he's a gorgeous dude but it gets harder to pick up people who don't expect at least friendship with sex. If he can't rely on superficiality, what is he really doing with his life?? Midlife crisis time! I think I'm too young to know if this makes sense, but it fits my general experience and it's what popped into my head when I read your comment :)
starphotographs: ...I'm not that bad, though. And I don't even light things on fire! Well, not regularly... (Izaya (devious))

Yeah, I'm probably too young to understand all the nuances fully, too. But I think your ideas sound really cool! :)

That could be fantastic, if done well!

Nonny here is writing that, although the character's just heading into mid-life crisis range. He discovers he's half-blooded in the course of the novel and that his parents had been keeping the secret for years, etc.

Of course, he's not the main, but he's one of them. The other is the same age, and their friends and younger siblings make up the rest.

Sounds cool! Good luck with that. :)

Thank you! c: It's going pretty good right now, but even though I'm lucky enough to have professional interest, some of the people I met definitely implied they'd want it more YA than it is, which just sums up OP's whole thing.
