Let me guess, you prefer Cumberben Humperdinck?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't even sound like his name any more
badass_tiger: Charles Dance as Lord Vetinari (Default)

But you still recognised it, didn't you?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
It is below a secret about sherlock holmes. Who else would it be?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
That could have been scrawled on a subway tile, and I'd still read it as Benedict Cumberbatch.

NAYRT

Relevant? http://the-toast.net/2013/12/02/a-linguist-explains-the-rules-of-summoning-benedict-cumberbatch/

It's good.

To be fair, his nose is not hawk-like.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
You haven't seen many hawks, from the sound of it.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it actually is. Hawks have a broad base tapering with an angle. Brett.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"FACT."

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
because you can only like one or the other, amirite

nayrt, but I don't think anyone of the major players of Holmes have particularly gotten his look right. I think Brett is the closest, but it's still off. That's just the reality of actors playing a role.

Personally, even more than Holmes, I don't think I've ever seen a Watson that struck me as "correct".

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Jude Law comes closest, IMO.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

I was actually going to mention him, yeah. Looks-wise, I agree.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Howard!Holmes Watson is awesome.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. Too fair, too lightweight.

I am probably just being really immature but these silly names will never not make me laugh....

Also, in what world does RDJ look like the description, either? smh

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
God, I hope not. D:

Sure, Brett was never going to win any beauty pageants. But he looks like an Adonis compared to Cumberbatch's lumpy chin-less face.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-13 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
What? Brett as a young man was a matinee idol.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-14 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry I should have clarified that thought. I meant Brett in his Sherlock Holmes era. :)
