I'm surprised I'm the first person to say it, but if you've been in all those fandoms and haven't seen the crazy parts, you're either a) delusional or b) the crazy we're talking about. One fandom, maybe, but all of them seems unlikely.

But anyway, that's not the point. The fandoms with needless drama are usually exhausting, very divisive, and disliked by most people outside that fandom. Wanting to avoid them makes perfect sense.

i thought the same on your first point. i'd be interesting in hearing OPs thoughts on what counts as crazy and wanky in those fandoms, and what exactly they have seen (or haven't seen.)
