I don't know what it was like in other places, but me and every other kid in my third grade class knew Pocahontas was fiction before it even hit theaters.

The Disney version. We knew it was fiction because we already knew (more or less *insert "I know history taught in schools is also flawed and revisionist" clause*) about the real Pocahontas.
