For me, A/B/O is an odd mix of tropes that I don't care for at all and tropes that I find really intriguing. I generally don't find slash titillating so the almost-invariably-M/M aspect in itself means I rarely read them, and knotting, soulbonding, mpreg and impregnation in general do nothing for me either. On the other hand, the power dynamics and the whole overpowering animalistic sexual urges bit hit my buttons like whoa if handled decently. Those are probably exactly the bits that squick a lot of A/B/O-haters, since they're the source of the massive consent issues, but that's what I find fascinating about them - how would people deal with a world where a biological instinct tells them to be meek and obedient to a certain class of people? Where they know a biological instinct is telling other people to be obedient to them? What about being in heat? The psychology of it is incredibly interesting to me. And hot.

I've only read a couple of really interesting A/B/O fics, but the potential I see in the genre is amazing. If anyone has good recs that take on those psychological aspects, I will be all over them.
