Let's discuss our favorite slut characters.

Just in case:
1)I use slut as "someone who has a lot of sex with a lot of different people" and not as a derogatory word
2)I use it for both men and women, so no sexism here

Panty Anarchy.

Panty & Stocking was so awesome. I think it was the first time I saw an anime with the message "it's okay for women to have as much casual sex as they want, and there's nothing wrong with it".

slut is still a gendered insult no matter how you personally decide to use it, and i think you know that

Words can change their meanings, if people start using for men too it will stop being a gendered insult.

My favorite "slut character" would probably be Panty from PASWG. She unrepentantly loves sex, and she's a bitch and she just owns it. She's a badass, and she's hilarious. I know PASWG is a really weird show, but she really stuck with me as a character. I always found Stocking kind of overrated.

Can you really take a derogatory word and just declare that when you use it it's not derogatory? Why not just choose a different word?

I can't think of a character off the top of my head that is characterized by having a lot of sex. I'm sure there are, just blanking at the moment.

People invented words. They have only the meanings we collectively choose to give them. If enough people agreed that a particular word meant something different or was more or less objectionable than it is now, it would become the reality (and in fact this does happen, just slowly and usually not consciously for most of us. That's assuming somebody isn't gumming up the process by refusing to let everyone else forget how it started out.)

Yeah probably. Unless you wanted to argue that slut should stay just a hurtful term.

I dare you to tell the next black person you come across who uses the "n" word that they shouldn't use it because it's derogatory and you can't just take a derogatory word and make it not derogatory.

Two of my favorite characters are Dio and Gil. I think I have a thing for megalomaniac blond sluts.
