I agree with you, OP! Cap is one of my all-time faves.
Also, I just really don't like Batman, and it seems for DC the ultimate debate always comes down to Batman vs Superman. I'm not very fond of Superman, but he's better than Batman, I suppose. Not a popular opinion, I know.

Green Lantern. Debate over. <3

Oh yeaahhh. All the GLs beat out everyone else, ever.

(Guy is the best, though!)

Just not Hal...

Captain Whitebread got a lot more interesting after he became Parallax, IMO. And it was a lot of fun watching his journey back to the land of the living.

But as a Green Lantern? I think Geoff Johns has done a lot to make him a legitimately flawed, interesting character who has to deal with the stuff he's done (even if it's not technically his fault.) I haven't read past Johns' last issue, so I'm a little worried about what GL will be like after that. (I'm slowly catching up, shh)

I am unfairly biased against Hal, I admit. Maybe I should try giving some of Johns' Lantern stuff a read.

Geoff Johns is the best thing to happen to Green Lantern since Kyle Rayner.

Thank you for finding a way to phrase a pro-Hal opinion in a manner I can respect. Perhaps your opinion on Johns' work has merit. :)

There's a special place in my heart for Hal because the old GL comics where he first starred were my introduction to comics at large. But I totally get why people hated him; looking back he was a total bore. I say that with fondness.

Ha, nothing wrong with that, anon. I just like the other Lanterns so much more than Hal, and unfairly project on him, I think.

EXCUSE U, BUT WALLY WEST.

I honestly hate how the debate always has to be Batman vs. Superman. People always seem to forget that Bruce in the comics usually admires and respects the hell out of Superman, and sees Clark as a better man than himself. Not to mention their mutual friendship built on trust and respect. It's not like the two are on conflicting irreconcilable sides, although they might have different methods of doing things, both of them sit on the same idealistic, lofty moral grounds.
(Unless the writer is like Geoff Johns, who takes cues from Miller by writing Batman as the 'un-naive' alpha prick against Superman, ugh.)

I tend to avoid anything that puts Batman and Superman at odds with one another, because usually it ends up with Batman being in the right with Superman as a sore loser and that's just. ugh. The whole of it is offputting.

Yeah, I find that so offputting too. It honestly always just feels like indulgent fap material for annoying Batman fans.
