Uh, wouldn't most people agree that scantily clad video game characters (especially female) is objectification or whatnot?

Yes, but not to the point of not being able to play/watch the thing. Most of us will just facepalm, think that it's stupid and deal with it if the rest of the game is good enough. Looks to me like OP has issues.

Oooh, 'issues'.

Judgemental ass. People like and dislike different things to you, who's to say you are the "normal" one?

Common sense.

Lately there have been some strange arguments about slut-shaming in complaints of these things. Which makes no sense because these are fictional characters with no autonomy that is being affected by unfair societal pressures, but that doesn't stop those arguments.

I've actually gotten into those type of arguments on FS! before, where people were trying to talk about fictional characters being able to dress how they want and my reaction was mostly, "But they're fictional... they were created by a man... to please men..."

Like I understand the need to not judge how real women dress but ignoring the objectification of women just so you don't slut shame seems to take back the progress a bit.

I see that argument with Wonder Woman all the time. And in some cases, that argument works, depends on the artist and the writer. Other times? Even SHE is being drawn to titillate men.

But they're still strong female characters!

Who just happen to mostly look like strippers!
