Now, what's your credit number?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Mine is DEAN

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
lol, mine is a numberfied version of the Impala's license plate.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Mine is the year an event happened, backwards. It's obviously not the birth/death/marriage date of anyone related to me, just a historical event that I can always remember quickly.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Mine is the two numbers of my favorite Gundam Wing pilots.

I've never changed my account PIN, but my iPhone lock screen is the year The Journeyman Project is set.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
You could change your pin if you don't like it.

I mean I understand why this is a secret - PIN numbers should always be secret, I just don't understand why you're sad about it.

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not as sad about my pin number itself as I am the fact that it reminds me of a time when I was really, truly in love with the show.

I've thought about changing it a couple times to something else that I still love, but ultimately I'm too lazy and keeping it as 'DCTR' gives me hope that one of these years Moffat will leave and I'll have the chance of falling in love with it all over again.

Mine's a numberified version of a place name from Beowulf. I have obscure fandoms sometimes.

Aw that's cute though. For years mine was the name of my favourite author when I was 11, Piers Anthony. Hows that for embarrassing.

[personal profile] poisonenvy 2014-03-08 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, not my pin number, but my password for everything was "Tolkien" between about 5th - 10th grade. It's not anymore (obviously, or I wouldn't've said so), but yes.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so paranoid about stuff like that. My PIN number is an arbitrary one, nothing fandom-related that could be traced back to me. XD

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Is fandom really all that traceable though? I mean, I know so many people who use their kid's birth year or an anniversary date or, hell, even their own birth year!

Compare that to, say, someone who loves Harry Potter and Star Trek and Doctor Who AND Supernatural AND Lord of the Rings. Even going with just main character first names, it could be HRRY/RONW/HRMN, KIRK/SPCK, DCTR/ROSE/MRTH/DNNA/AMYP/RORY/RIVR, DEAN/SAMM/CSTL, or FRDO/GDLF. Not very guessable.

Hell, even DCTR could easily be DOCW.

Yeah, see, that's a tautology. You can't say 'ATMOS system' since it stands for 'atmospheric emissions system'. So you're just saying 'atmospheric emissions system system' d'you see, Mr Conditional Clause?

You are a bloody idiot. Way to let hackers have access to all your info.

And I say that as somebody who just had their Twitter account hacked a couple of weeks ago. Bloody Russians.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Could they really do anything with OP's PIN though? There's no way of knowing who it even belongs to.

It...never occurred to me that my pin could be a word. I suck so much at remembering numbers that I use stupid codes, I should change them all to ridiculously nerdy things. Thanks for the inspiration.

Mine is Chris Kirkpatrick's birthday. Yes, I have had it for over a decade.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Great idea. I'll be using that.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-07 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
My PINs are fandom-related, too. I thought I was the only one dorky enough to do that. :)
