I like to think that besides drawing Joan fanart, Moriarty also writes Joan fanfic, and they are all high school AUs and Vampire Diaries crossovers.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
That would be awesomely hilarious. I want Sherlock to discover her secret fanfic stash now.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'll accept that. Makes sense to me.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
NEW HEADCANON: Moriarty is Tara Gilesbie, and Tara's buddy Raven is Sherlock.

IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE.

Huh, kind of off-topic but I have this kind of reaction to almost any hero/enemy ship if it's written as sooo uncomplicated.

Yea, I somewhat feel this way as well. Not that I haven't shipped hero/villain pairings, but if it's all fluff and no complications I just don't get it. Granted, other people can, it just isn't for me.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I notice this with Dresden/Marcone in Dresden Files. They've got such an interesting dynamic and it's a ship I could get behind, but almost all of the fanwork just treats it like, "Yup, of course they're banging!" Which is like...dude, you left out the most interesting part!

Yes, same. It surprises me how often that the fact that the relationship for a hero/villain pairing would be incredibly fucked up at some level usually gets ignored. (And honestly, isn't that the best part?)

say what you want about the Sherlock fandom, but I do like that most of their moriarty/sherlock (or moriarty/john) fic is as messed up as it should be (...let's not talk about the moran/moriarty fic though. there is a staggering amount of fluff written about that trainwreck of a ship. one half of the pairing doesn't even exist in current canon!)

I wish there was more dark and twisted fic for Joan/Moriarty

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Anyone who writes non-crack fluffy domestic Moriarty/Moran is deluded. The best part about the pairing is that they are both so fucked up and the worst person for each other (my MorMor goes mainly off Hound of the D'Ubervilles canon).

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I don't watch the show but it looks like I have a new pairing to ship *goes off to look for fic* Sorry, OP.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
This ship squicks me soooooo much and I'm not sure why. I usually like hero/villain ships.

Maybe because there's no way it could plausibly happen without non-con of some sort.

Huh, I always thought it was a small ship. Then again, I'm really out of sync with fandom.
lyssie: (Sam and Kara are not canon)

[personal profile] lyssie 2014-03-08 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I hadn't written any Joan/Moriarty yet... But if you're going to be such an asshole about one of the bigger F/F ships, I guess I ought to.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
if you aren't going to make it a wildly OOC (I mean, obviously it would probably be OOC in some sense but good lord, there's a limit) piece of shit then please go ahead

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
It's an enemy/hero ship--they always get bad reactions, because they're hard to do well. We'll be thrilled over here if you do it well, though, so please. Pretty, pretty please.

What the hell has it being F/F got to do with it? OP is not "being an asshole" they are asking for proper characterization. Get off your high horse.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
So if it's F/F, everyone has to like it, no matter what?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
IS there stuff that doesn't handwave it away or write it as twisted and messed up? Because that's an f/f dynamic I'd like and there's not many ships that fit it, and I'd love to see it. It's one of my biggest kinks.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
So do you also have problems with the TONS of male enemies that have been slashed?

I kinda agree, most Joaniarty is just too fluffy, and the canon has so much room for some gloriously messed Dark!Fic.

I mean, everyone is free to ship what they what, how they want; But I do think that people who write fluffy and uncomplicated Joaniarty are missing the point of the ship.

I mean, it comes with the territory of a hero/villian ship.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
I really want fic with Elementary!Moriarty and BBC!Moriarty hooking up. God, those two personalities would be hot.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I can understand how you feel when characters I like are shipped in a way I don't like buuuuuut as I've long learned, the thing to do when you don't ship something is to... go away from the stuff having to do with it. Seriously, no one wants to hear your complaints. Just look away, you'll feel better.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
How about you shut the hell up and let me have my enemy!slash. Especially this particular pairing, because it's femslash. This shit is like a goddamned Puma, an elusive and possibly mythical creature, and it'll go right on my shelf with my old ass Squall/Seifer fanfics.
