He sued to have all traces of his modeling shoot for XY erased from the internet because the images of men kissing each other are "pornographic" and he's sorry he agreed to that shoot and hopes it won't hurt his career that he modeled for, in his own words, "lewd photos." How is that NOT homophobic?

Anyway, he didn't sue anyone - his reps evidently scoured the 'net and sent out a bunch of cease-and-desists.

Was that right? Probably not. It wasn't illegal for anyone to post the pics; they're public material.

Did it help his career? Maybe. His reps may have had experience with young unknowns in similar situations that had trouble making it in mainstream media.

Does it reflect his personal views? I don't know, and neither do you.

Great, now google the lawsuit instead of just the pictures. When you read it, you'll see he hired a rep to hire an attorney to sue to have the images removed and his reasons for doing (it's pornography when two men kiss, etc) are clearly stated and his signature accompanies the documents.

Yes, he's been photographed kissing women and didn't sue to have the images erased. He's also been filmed kissing women and has not sued to have the studios destroy the footage.

Even if that weren't the case, his homophobic comments about being photographed kissing another man are enough to demonstrate that he is homophobic.

Actually no, it was odder than that. NOTE: most of this is my third person observations and memories from events a few years ago, and while I have a very good memory, I'm not going to pretend I will have things right.

One blogger posted the full cease-and-desist letter, and in addition with the part posted earlier was a section proclaiming that the pictures where meant to be private. However on a blog(possible the same blog), mentioned corresponding with either the former magazine editor or the photographer, and getting that shoot was completely legal and even Colton's mother signed a release for him to be able to do the shoot.

So while it did call the photos lewd and other names, it was oddly the closest thing to outing Colton that I know of. Muddying the waters somewhat is that while it was a shoot for the magazine XY I believe the magazine itself presented that pics and two cute models who happen to be dating sending it personal pics of themselves.

It reminds me of Luke Evans, both situations are complicated and odd, and no one knows much big if any part the actor played in their respective situations.

Thanks for that. It at least provides some color as to why the lawyer was saying the pictures were private. Not saying they were, just saying it's interesting that's how they were presented in the magazine.

No, anon's (my) argument was not that he's "maybe gay so he can't possibly be homophobic" - I'd thought he was gay but I was wrong. Whatever. I don't care much either way since I'm not a fan. I still think it's stupid when some random ass anon blows in, crying "Prejudice!" without giving context to their claims.
