Apparently when a half dozen people on tumblr make up a headcanon and go to ridiculous lengths to claim it's canon, that makes people like OP in the minority somehow.

Or because you are weirded up by tumbler-tran headcanons where their lives are just an afterschool special of why transphobia and bullying are ~bad and people buy them binders/packers regardless of how creepy that might be irl, your older sibling buying you underwear?

...you know, given that people who post trans or POC or otherwise diverse headcanons in their own blogs frequently deal with a deluge of actual death threats and rape threats, and that the vast, vast majority of fic and art and headcanon in the fandom is cis, you should maybe rethink your wording. And your persecution complex.

Seriously, if you don't go around giving people shit for wanting representation/having headcanons that differ from yours, you will literally have zero problems.

To be fair, on Tumblr, you'll get this for literally anything. I said I didn't think Armin from Attack on Titan was that interesting a character, and someone Armin stans got hold of that post and I received an impressive deluge of actual death and rape threats.

I'm confused...is there a significant presence in the fandom of people suggesting the kids are trans? I know at least a few people think Jane is because of her Detective Mustache, but I've never heard a peep for the other kids...

Depends on what corner of the fandom you're involved in, or what kind of people you follow. I see a lot of people on my dash who headcanon the Striders and/or Roxy (but strangely never Rose) as trans. Mostly Dave, for some reason, but someone made an interesting discussion about Roxy possibly being a translady at one point. I don't subscribe to the headcanon, personally, but they brought up some really interesting ideas.

It was a style decision, presumably to save detail so that pages could be drawn and uploaded at a fast pace. It's made fun of at the very beginning of the comic to fuck with the readers by trying to get them to help John find his arms.
