I rarely make friends with men because ~misandry~.

Actually idk.

I just have trouble connecting with men? Probably because I'm really wary of them. lol. Too many bad experiences, I guess.

And I'm pretty much the same with women (and I am one). I've had enough female friends/bosses turn out to be nasty backstabbing witches to sour me for life.

That's because the lot of you are backstabbing bitches.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Don't bother. You're not entertaining or interesting.

And the lot of you are creepy, abusive pigs.

See what I did there? :)

Why does this sound like something that a bitter MRA would say while explaining that he's done with romance and dating and nobody wants a Nice Guy anyway?

Because that's exactly the sort of thing they say, all the time.

ayrt probably isn't helping. :/

If you get the fear out of the way, the problem can be smaller than it seems. A girl who'd similarly had bad experiences assumed I was female, and she soon felt comfortable enough with me to start dumping on me about her issues with men. (I revealed my sex right away. She was pretty mortified, but there didn't seem to be any better response.)

In my experience, guys would always be much more likely to get angry and violent with me whenever I disagreed with them. They would also mock me and just generally be kinda douchy. My female friends, even if they didn't agree with me, wouldn't be nearly as snotty as my old ex-guy friends.

It makes sense, though. Most of my friends are male, but pretty much all my new friends are female.

I know about the wariness thing. After I realized that some people were going to be assholes to me because of my sex and gender, I stopped trusting strange men as much. It's the Schroedinger's rapist dillemma: you can either assume every man you meet is a potential rapist and keep yourself safe while pissing a lot of guys off because how dare you insinuate that they could be dangerous, or you can get accused by those same people of leading a guy on or being stupid and not protecting yourself.

Yay, equality.

I used to have mainly male friends, but it turned out that they were just using me to try to get close to my gorgeous sister. So now I'm wary of some guys, but I hate the notion that girls are the only backstabbers.
