I have written three secrets. The first was eons (5-6 years?) ago, complaining about the dearth of fic about female characters in SPN and I was told I was too sensitive and/or I should write it myself. The second was pretty much ignored (as it was for a small fandom that apparently no one cares about) and the third got a decent response. I've debated making more secrets, but based on things I've seen I'm afraid I would be called troll even if it is my real opinion, so I haven't bothered.

I comment (generally anon) for secrets that are something I feel the same way about or if there is a discussion in the coments that intrigues me, even if it generally isn't a fandom I am a part of. I generally read 1/3-1/2 of the comments on a given day, just because the secrets seem potentially interesting, even if I'm not in the fandom.

And I enjoy reading GC, as there are often interesting threads. I'll usually comment 2-3 times a day in those. Sometimes with my account, sometimes anon.

I think of FS as others have said - a gauge of fandom at-large, as I don't really follow a lot of the popular fandoms. I also think of it as a genuinely interesting place for some random discussion.
