So you think that they should either take the risk that the dog will bite the baby, or give it to a new owner that will get bitten instead? How about you offer to take the dog, if you think it can still be trained? For the record, I think that dogs should be put down, if they keep biting people despite training.

Nowhere did I say that. It's a shitty situation and I felt like venting my frustration. For the record, if I were allowed to have pets in my apartment, I would offer to take the dog and see if we could make it work, because as far as I know he's only bitten one of them and not both of them, and I have enjoyed the dog vicariously through my coworker's stories up til now.

Actually this is the bit that bothered me most about your story, that the dog only bites the husband. Maybe the dog has some trauma relating to men or maybe the husband (unintentionally) does something to set the dog off. Also, when they say 'bite', is this a full on aggressive not letting go bite or more of a playful or warning kind of bite? Basically I'd need to know more before I can make my mind up about this...

(One last thing, it always bothers me when people are more precious about their children than about themselves or other adults. I get that is how we survived as a species, but still.)

I think there's been blood drawn, but nothing that requires ER visits, from what I've been told. And it isn't that the dog attacks the husband every time he sees him. It's a rare thing, really, but it keeps happening, so...
