So I laboriously typed in that whole URL, and found out that he just waved to the kid. That's it. Next time just say what to search for, now I'm kind of pissed off that I went to the trouble.

I didn't watch the video, but one wave is sort of anti-climatic...do hockey players not do a lot of waving to the crowd? I would think that was normal.

Nah, they wave when they see people waving to them. But this guy also spoke to the kid later.

But "a lot"? I don't know if I would classify it as a lot, usually when they're on the ice, they're focused more on the game than the stands. Waving without much reason might get a penalty for "delay of game".

Aww, I didn't realize the game was that strict. I suppose it does make sense though.

In any case, it IS cute that he acknowledged the kid. I bet that made his day. (And will be something his family will talk about forever.)

He also spoke to the kid one on one later on in a different video. Plus I think OP was reacting more to how happy the kid was than what Charlie did.

I thought Minnesota had a pretty strong fanbase. You know, being a hockey state in all. But I don't really pay attention to fan bases, so I might be wrong.

I'm not a Minnesota fan, but I respect your team. Josh Harding is one of hell of a goalie. He defiantly would have run away with the Vezina this year if it weren't for his MS. I also am fond of Zach Parise. I'm a Devils fan, and unlike the rest of us, still really like that guy. He was a great captain for us, and it not like he went to the Rangers or anything.

Also, yay hockey secret!

We are the ~*~state of hockey~*~ but it always seems like the team isn't performing up to how well it should be (although it's better this year than last, no question). Also, in this state it's usually a safe bet to just assume any sports team is going to be awful (TIMBERWOLVES *shakes fist*) and then be pleasntly surprised. It's just nice to see someone from presumably out-of-state hop on the Wild's wagon.

Also, true story: I work with a guy who used to be Zach Parise's homeroom teacher. He said it was really surreal watching him in the Olympics.

I don't think your reason for liking the team is any sillier than liking a team just because it's from your home town, which a lot of fans do.

Hon, do you like the game as well? Then you're a hockey fan and if anyone gets pissed, they can stuff it.

I love the game, but my favorite team is pretty much determined by where I live (NHL) or my favorite player (KHL).

You're a fan and that's all that matters.
