Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes I get this weird feeling in my...I'm not sure exactly which part it is so I'll just say "parts". It defies proper description, but the best I can put it is it's kind of like an itch, except I don't think scratching will help. And it feels like it's deep inside. I know it has something to do with sexual stuff, but it seems to happen totally at random. (Which is the only way it could happen, since I'm an asexual with no kinks to speak of...) It's been happening more often lately, too, I think. As best I can recall, it initially tended to mostly be right before my period, then it sort of crept up to being before and during, and now it's been four days since it ended and it's still here and it's driving me crazy. I hate this feeling. It's incredibly uncomfortable, sometimes to the point where I can't get to sleep because of it. It used to be that rubbing my parts against something really harshly abated it, but that stopped working pretty quickly. I absolutely can't stand the sensation of sticking something inside, and on the rare occasions I'm desperate enough to try, it doesn't do shit. Nothing makes it go away. I've looked up things like "how to turn yourself off" and nothing there helps either. Please tell me how to make it go away when it surfaces, since it's apparently going to keep doing so.

tl;dr: I've suddenly spawned what might be a sex drive after 23 years of being perfectly happy not having one and hoping it would never develop. *grumble grumble*

It sounds like a really bad yeast infection to me, tbqh.

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I looked up "what does a yeast infection feel like" in a slight panic, and I highly doubt it. I did say it was like an itch, but it's really not an itch, and it's not on the outside. It's kind of like I really have to pee, actually. Hope that makes it sound less likely to be an infection, because getting my parts looked at...let's just say I have some extreme problems with that idea...

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
It could be a UTI as well (especially if it feels like you have to urinate). Not everyone presents the same way, and yeast infections can occur inside the vaginal tract. You could always get one of the otc treatments, use it for the full 7 days, and see if that helps. That is what doctors in my area will tell you to do in any case.

Additionally, if it is reassuring to you in any way, in my area, if you go in and explain you have weird itchiness/whatever, they will just collect a urine sample, test that to rule out a UTI, and then give a prescription strength medication for a yeast infection. Actual visual or manual inspection of the area is...not really done as a first resort.

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeast infections don't always manifest in the same way for everyone, OP. A little TMI but... I never get discharge, but the itching can be intense and no, it's not just on the outside. :(

That said, if it's accompanied by the feeling like you need to pee, that sounds an awful lot like a urinary tract infection. It's no biggie and the doctor won't have to examine your vagina. You'll just need to provide a urine sample and they'll prescribe antibiotics.

Sounds like one to me too. I know seeing the doctor is a really unwanted experience, but please do, OP.

I've had a bad yeast infection and it would be nothing how OP described. But I suppose people could present in different ways, mostly it just sounds like OP is horny and it's a new experience for them.

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I've been horny, and it is nothing like how OP described, lol.

DA

-shrugs- I've been horny and you *could* describe it the way the OP does, even though that's probably not how I would do it.

By the same token, I've also had an issue that could *also* be described the same way and it had nothing to do with being horny.

I've had one too and it was similar to OP's description. I think it comes down to people are different.

Another Ace here [though one whose always had some kind of a sex drive] and...well. Do you show any other signs of being turned on? [Like, if you're female, do you get wet, etc] Because if not, then it might not hurt to go get checked out by the doctor to be sure it isn't something more serious health-wise.

Otherwise, best I can tell you is masturbate if you can/are up for it, or ignore it since I'm guessing you've tried the normal stuff to turn one's self off like thinking of dead kittens*.

*You might run across something in the future that turns you off, but until then.

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
tl;dr: You might want to get checked out to be *sure* it's not something else [since you didn't describe the other stuff that goes with being turned on], but if it is just that then...not a whole lot to do.

Masturbate. Which does not mean you have to "stick something inside". Look up some stuff, explore your body a bit and learn how to rub one off quickly to abate the feeling.

Man have I been where you are. Asexual, didn't start masturbating until my late 20s. Never thought about it or felt the need at all until then. I'm now in my early 30s and have figured out some quick sure fire ways to get off to relieve that horny type of feeling. Still asexual, but sometimes the body needs what it needs and sometimes that's an orgasm. *shrug*

Other than that I'd say maybe talking to a doctor to just make sure it's nothing actually physically wrong with your lady bits.

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
So...what do you do to relieve it, if you're comfortable saying? If it works for you, maybe it'll work for me.

DA [I hope you don't mind me popping in]

Focus on your clit? Like I use a bullet vibrator [you can use others, I just personally enjoy the bullet I've got for that more than the others] on my clit and that pretty much does it for me.

But really, you've just got to try things out for yourself and see what you like, and don't like, and go from there.

AYRT

You've really just got to kind of feel around and explore to see what works for you. When I just want to get that feeling out and over with I basically just...kind of hump my hand? Idk how to explain it. On my stomach, hand putting pressure up and on my clit and just go for it.

I do get aroused by certain kinks or porn in fic so that can sometimes help me work up to it, but that's not true for everyone.

If you're not too shy about it and have your own comp go ahead and google some masturbating guides for the ladies. There are a lot out there, some helpful some not so much.

It's somewhat less common for women to be able to achieve orgasm with just penetration alone (I can but it takes so much effort that by the time I actually orgasm, I've become kind of bored with the whole thing) and many need clitoral stimulation to help things along. A lot of women rely on clit stimulation alone to achieve orgasm in fact

UTI or yeast infection would be my top two guesses.

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I assumed OP wasn't using 'itch' in the very literal sense. But yes, a yeast infection would be a very no doubt about it literal itch.

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
What kind of sense then? I'm honestly curious. I'm bisexual, experience horniness usually at least once a day, and have never felt anything that I would describe as 'itchy' in relation to being turned on.

DA

A lot of asexual people describe sexual desire as being like "an itch they need to scratch" and although I wouldn't describe being horny that way I guess I could see how someone could use it as a metaphor?

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
DA

Most of the Ace community is using that because it's a fairly common term for masturbating, at least the circles I've been in. [Urban dictionary says it's specifically for "female masturbation" but around where I live it's just masturbation in general.] So it's not a literal description in most cases...and from what the OP's said in various comments, I suspect that they're using it as an actual description, not a metaphor.

Re: Sexual noob question (obvious TMI warning)

I kind of thought that at first but then when I tried rereading the original description from a different perspective I could kind of see how someone might describe it that way. Like I said, that's not a way I'd ever describe it but I get the impression OP is asking for masturbation tips and I can't imagine that if it was a literal itch someone would think masturbation was the answer, regardless of how (in)experienced they were. Or maybe I'm just completely reading it wrong.

Just because you have a hole, doesn't mean you have to stick something in it. Penetration only does nothing for me and I rarely do any sort of penetrative masturbation. When I finally figured out where my clit was and how to use it it was the best day. Anyway, I don't know how to make you not horny, if that's even what it is because I certainly don't experience sexual arousal as an itch (more like a throbbing or a tickle), but there are other ways to masturbate that are usually more effective for females that don't involve sticking something in your vagina.
