Re: Have we talked about CA: Winter soldier yet? (Spoilers inside)

IA, this film did an excellent job of showing how useful and important the 'normal' heroes are. After Avengers there was a bit, "Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain America are useless" so I'm hoping most of that will die down now. (You've seen otherwise, people! If you don't get it now you never ever will.)

The teasing was ADORABLE. I loved that they were even doing it while hanging the SHIELD dude off the roof, lmao. Those two don't miss a beat.

I have a stupid weakness for Bucky so my feelings aren't even remotely new, but they are certainly stronger than ever! I'm glad Winter Soldier is making people stand up and pay more attention to him; he deserves it! (And Steve's friendship with Bucky is one of my favorite things in the Cap films. I love who supportive and sweet they are with each other. Steve needs him so much.)

Sam should team up with Natasha AND Clint! Would be interesting.

Chrestomanci's favorite toy is a balloon. It's more that it's a ribbon-delivery-system (seriously, his favorite food D:), but a helium balloon from the dollar store will get way more play time chasing that ribbon than almost any expensive toy expressly made for cats. We have to keep it in either the storage garage or a closed bathroom because he will catch it and eat the ribbon. Actually, we'll be getting him one sometime next week to celebrate his 14th birthday!

It's kind of hard for me to orgasm anyway (I usually have to use a vibrator, manual stimulation just doesn't do it) but with penetration if done just right, I can get to where I feel like I might come. It doesn't usually happen, but the buildup feels nice. I've just accepted the fact that I'm one of those women who will never have amazing, full blown screaming orgasms.

I have a cat who loves the bathroom, too. He follows me in and rolls around on the tile floor until I leave. He doesn't go in on his own, though, even though he could.

I had the change my tumblr username because I said Rabbit's make-up was better before when it had uneven lips and cheek vents and the fandom came down on me.

Wait, seriously? What the fuck fandom! D:

There was a post on TORN that said the prologue to AUJ was supposed to feature Drogo and Primula and then the three film split happened and caused some rearranging... there's been no word of Drogo being recast, though.

The one that seems nice and acts nice but is secretly scheming. Not evil, just more than you appear, but you like it that way- appearing one way than acting another. Like a super spy!

(sorry, I don't think I know you that well... :( )

Australian perspective for part two: Australia is really big. We do backburning (controlled burns) every single year, but it's nigh impossible to get every single area. The Blue Mountains, which had bad fires late last year, gets regular backburning, but it's a very very large area of dense forest (dense EUCALYPTUS forest, which is highly flammable!) and it's hard to control. The Black Saturday fires in Victoria a few years ago were also in an area that hadn't seen backburning in quite a few years.

There's also the fact that it's impossible to predict WHERE the fires will be. Lightning can strike anywhere. Arsonists regularly start fires - one of the Black Saturday fires was arson (I personally think that the arsonist should be charged with murder, incidentally - eleven people died in that complex, and the fucker was only charged with one count of arson causing death!).

We do take as many precautions as we can - fire safety is drilled into Australian kids from a young age, there are building material restrictions (we couldn't use wood on our back porch because we were in the 'flame zone', for instance), we're taught what to do when the fire approaches - but when it's that huge, and when it's in areas that may not be brand new and DO have flammable materials, there's pretty much nothing you can do but get out as soon as humanely possible.

They did do so, but they tend to be really obvious in their rip-offs. If he was really intended to be Grima Redux I'd expect any parallels to be really spelled out for the audience, and I don't think there's anything there.

Re: Questions there's never a good time to ask.

Re. 2), what I tend to wonder (particularly with respect to RECENT arrivals, as opposed to families who've been in a place for generations) is why the hell they built in a place so prone to fires or floods to start with. I can give someone a pass if great-great-great-grandpa settled down there hundreds of years before climate was well understood (or before it changed,) but these days if it's well-known that a place is going to get hammered every few years or in the near future, it's irresponsible to put a house there.

Also, I'm not sure whether victim blaming is a thing when it comes to natural disasters. You can't really blame nature for hurting people, it just does what it does and is completely blind to human laws or concepts of fairness or justice, and there is absolutely nothing we can ever do to change that. So the onus is on us humans to take whatever steps are possible and necessary to protect ourselves. If we don't, then yeah, that's really our own fault.

+1

That's neat. I've never wanted to own a Kindle, but my favorite author has some epub only books i'd love to read.

Thanks!
