Spoilers abound for both the show and the book series.

Disclaimer: I've only ever watched clips of the show and will watch full episodes, but I nearly everything I know about the show, I know from reading the books and from various fandom sites I frequent.

The thing that pissed me off the most was that Beverly Katz lives in the books, and I'll freely admit to being a big canon-plot-stickler (as in, specific characters can change, because characterization is up for personal interpretation, but plot points and events can't change in nature, only in tone, because things might happen subjectively, but they still happen). Also, if it were Will or Jack Crawford who had broken into the house, they would've survived.

Yes, I am very irritated that this show that had so many amazing female characters, female characters of color even, is pretty much now just Alana and Freddie, and maybe the future Lady Murasaki. Don't get me wrong; Fuller could've done a lot less than even those two characters, but from what I've heard of the show, Beverly's death is probably going to be the point at which I stop watching.

"if it were Will or Jack Crawford who had broken into the house, they would've survived."

Well, with how this season started it won't be surprising at all if Jack dies this season...

Did you see last night's ep? It's not just Alana and Freddie.

Yeah, I always have a niggling feeling this is just the other side of the coin of straight-up racism.

I assumed the secret maker was looking for representation and hated having one of the few not-a-walking-stereotype Asian women they had killed off, but I could be wrong.

But it would be an issue for me if they fridged a woman in a TV show who wasn't killed off in the books. I'm just not personally familiar with this series and came down to the comments to find out more about it /shrug
