F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

I have a thing for shipping siblings

Usually brothers (because generally I like m/m best) but lately I've been shipping sisters too. (Not so much brother/sister though.) They have to be close in age, no weird power dynamics, and it has to be consensual. I've never thought too much of it because it's always been fictional characters but lately it's starting to spread to RPS and...that is not okay. I don't know how to just stop it though, it always seems to sneak up on me out of nowhere.

Ugh.

I love incest in fiction and honestly I don't have a problem with it irl either. Ideally. No gross power dynamics or anything involved of course.

I have a thing for shipping brother/sister. Close in age, neither twincest nor big age gap.

I liked incest fic until I had to work on a real case that involved incest.

I'm assuming it was abusive if there's a "case" about it, yes? That's an entirely different situation than a totally consensual relationship, which to be fair, there probably aren't a whole lot of outside of fiction. But considering that it's not exactly the kind of thing most people are going to be open about, I think it's somewhat reasonable to assume it's probably more common than we think.

Yes, and yes, I know they are different, but it affected me subconsciously I guess. I don't care if other people like incest fic. I just can't really disassociate them anymore.

Ah. That's totally understandable. Once something becomes associated in your mind with something negative, it can be impossible to separate them.

I love both consensual and weird power dynamics (dub-con), but I don't ever want it as non-consensual.This is probably the only shipping where m/m and f/f variants do nothing for me unless it's twins, so it's het all up in my shipping. I don't factor in obligatory baby production, so that might be why it doesn't squick me in fiction.

Still though, rps? no go, but good luck anyways down your rabbit hole. You'll be fine :)

I thought I was okay with sibling ships and then I got into Frozen and discovered that Elsanna massively squicks me. Oops.

It started with Elladan and Elrohir and it's been ever since I was 17 and wandered into the LOTR fandom. Even the name told me to do it. Twincest, yum.

But good luck with your rps love. I figure as long as you don't tell the objects of your lust, it can't hurt. Many men are encouraged to want sisters that are willing to do sexual things to one another. Perhaps you feel guilty because you do not belong to the "approved" group of people who have the "approved" sexual longings?

Oh, I'm definitely not telling them! It'd be kind of hard even if I wanted to since they're celebrities (obscure ones, but still) and I don't know them. But yeah, that'd be creepy.

Maybe so! You're right, that kind of thing definitely seems more accepted in men (and also just in general how it's okay for guys to like two girls together but somehow weird for girls to like two guys together).
