F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

Sometimes they do try, but no one either steps up to take it over, or they do for a short time and just do such a bad job of it the original owner shuts it down, or the user base leaves so it dies that way.

AYRT

Oh I realize that, I've had comms like that myself - I didn't have time anymore, no one else did either, and a lot of people had left in the meantime. I'm talking about abrupt AWOLness. For instance, not that Case would ever do this, he's way too awesome, but let's say he just stopped posting secrets. Period. People PM Case; no response. A few weeks pass. We finally get a snarky reply: "I'm allowed to be busy." That's the sort of thing I'm talking about, where the abandonment seems to be under the table. At one forum I went to, a bunch of threads were deleted, and when we asked the mods why, their response was "lol." This was a really tight knit comm too, and the mods in question had basically been our friends. So that sucked. The real issue was that everyone was just too tired to do much with the site anymore... so why not be honest?

What I hate is when there are plenty of willing people but the old mod is a control freak and won't let anyone else run the community.
