F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

Favorite Episode of The X-Files?

Mine is Paper Hearts. I just think it's damn near perfect.

none of them because the theme song scared me

It's Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose

I almost feel bad saying that's my favorite, because there's so many episodes that I love, and there's a hipster part of me that wishes that my favorite episode wasn't one of the ones that's near-universally considered a work of genius. But no, it's Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose.

BY THE SEA! By. The. Sea. I love that one. And Detour and Momento Mori and Bad Blood and Demons.

I think you mean Beyond The Sea? That's an absolutely fantastic episode. It even has Don S Davis.

I also love Detour! A great chemistry episode that also has some really good villains.

Post-Modern Prometheus was the first to come to mind, I think because it was one of the first ones I saw.

Or Bad Blood, if I want to be cliched.

Or Our Town, which I was reminded of when someone mentioned it yesterday or maybe the day before.

Or the one about a devil worshiping cult or something...I think it was called Syzygy?

Or I think Rain King?, the one with the dude who controlled the weather.

Or the one with the lady who thought she had sex with Luke Skywalker and he was the father of her baby. Small Potatoes, maybe?

Or the one with the ghosts on Christmas, the name of which I can't remember and am too lazy to look up.

Or the one with the lake monster, see above.

Or the one with the invisible animals or something at a zoo?

Ooooh, or the circus one with the detachable twin that killed people!

Or...there are lots more but I'm blanking on them because I haven't watched an episode in so long.

And how could I forget Detour?

nayrt

that's one of the top Scully autopsy scenes though

I mean, it's no Bad Blood autopsy, but it's up there

That's true. And you've got some great Scully autopsy scenes: "Pizza, pizza, more pizza" from Bad Blood, the zipper in Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space', it's not my favorite but the invisible autopsy from Je Souhaite.

Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why, I just really enjoy it. The whole Anasazi/The Blessing Way/Paperclip set are a close second.

Those are all so damn good.

That was definitely the point where the myth arc was at its best IMO, in the third season. Those three are all really good and Nisei/731 and Piper Maru/Apocrypha are also really effective and don't have any seriously dumb crap (I am sorry but I cannot take Clone Samantha seriously, at all).

I can't believe I forgot Nisei/731--those are definitely up there too. I haven't finished watching the entire series yet, but I agree that the myth arc has been best in season 3. Those are the episodes that made the conspiracy and everything seem "real" to me, if you get what I mean.

The one where Luke Wilson is a hickpire, and the story is told in two different accounts by Scully and Mulder. I love the humourous break eps.

And the one from season one, about Scully's father who just died and the death row inmate who is a medium.

And the one that ends with Scully singing Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog :'(

The one with the logging camp and the little green glowy bugs that killed people? Loved that one.

Or the one with the dopplegangers with Kathy Griffin? I remember being highly amused by that one.

I liked a lot of the one-shot Monster of the Week type episodes.

The COPS episode!

I loved it. Humor and monster of the week and COPs spoof. What's not to love about that episode?
