Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

Unappreciated Fanartist

I like drawing fanart. But it's pretty disappointing when I barely get any feedback. I put all this effort into it and I feel like no one enjoys it. (I'm pretty decent if I can toot my own horn)

I think it's partly because I draw rarer pairings or just solo characters. I've noticed when I did a popular ship the likes multiply 10 fold. And probably because I'm not a BNF or anything.

That's strange anon, to me it's always seemed like fan artists are well loved /get lots of attention. I assume by likes you post on tumblr. Do you use proper tags? Or ever submit to fan dedicated blogs if there are some? Notes on tumblr are really more about who reblogs your posts rather than the content, honestly.

yep tumblr, i try not to post my more nsfw stuff on deviantart

yeah I tag, but some of the smaller pairings don't have active blogs for them to submit to.

instead of submitting them to pairing blogs, have you looked for active blogs the media theie from and posting then there. Pairing blogs dont have as much of an audience as blogs dedicated to a series.

Mind sharing the pairings or your art? I don't mind if feel uncomfortable doing so.

I'd rather not, I prefer not to leave a paper trail for any spiteful trolls.

But thanks for the advice. Tumblr does kind of have a format where it's easy to miss something.
