My fandom does that, and I hate it with all my soul. I simply don't see the point of shipping someone with himself, if they are the same fucking person. They end looking like a bunch of OCs paired together who happens to have the same name as the canon character. Seems pretty stupid to me.

The only reason I'll never say anything about it's because the part of the fandom who are into that are generally really awesome/nice people, so I don't have the heart to tell them their ships squick the hell out of me. ;_;
