F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

Apparently Michael Phelps is coming out of retirement

I am not happy about this. I really hope it's a short lived comeback and that the Rio Olympics are Phelps-free. I have all these plans to go to those Olympics in person, but his presence would be a huge letdown for me.

Why would it be a letdown? Why do you dislike the guy?

I have a lot of problems with him, but my biggest one is his law breaking tendencies. He knows that he's a public figure and that his actions are going to be hyperscrutinized. I generally don't have any tolerance for anyone who drives drunk. There are several alcoholics in my family, and I watched a lethal drunk driving incident damn near tear a county apart. His pot smoking was te proverbial icing on that shit cake. What really pisses me off is that the public took this in relative stride and cheered him on during the last Olympics. (That reminds me. His attitude toward Mark Spitz is nothing worth writing home about given how lousy it was.) I can tolerate big talk. Heck, I don't even mind Usain Bolt. The difference is Bolt manages to behave himself. If he has broken the law, I'll cop to being impressed that it didn't make international headlines.

With all that said, if Phelps did compete in 2016, that would mean listening to all the fans talking about him, which would be a nuisance and then some. Let me put it this way. I'd like to attend the whitewater events. If I have to hear the other spectators jabbering about whatever Phelps did, someone will be plunging into that whitewater course headfirst.
