OH SNAP. Yup, HOLiC is definitely better than Tsubasa.

I WAS a major Tsubasa fangirl, then the Infinity arc/Fai's past came along, and I got so bored with it I decided to catch up with the 5+ volumes of HOLiC I'd neglected. It was then I realised HOLiC was actually a lot better, and I get annoyed too when Clamp neglect it for Tsubasa.

Also, I agree totally with Kurogane being Tsubasa's saving grace. I do like Fai; I liked him more when he was being a fruitcake nutter though, and I do love his relationship with Kurogane (platonically and non-platonically), but...yeah. Kurogane brings all the awesome to the yard. I'm voting him as God in the next elections D:

It seems a lot of people that I've been talking to OL and IRL have caught up on HOLiC through similar means XD.

I won't lie, I was guilty of diving into TRC with full enthusiasm while giving HOLiC the brush-off, mainly because I had heard that Xiaolang and Sakura would return. During Hurricane Ivan's power-down in 2004 I was given the chance to catch up on the Del-Rey volume releases and ended up loving it more than I thought I would.

Most of that rant secret of mine was worded a bit poorly, as hate's a bit too strong for my case. As I've said I still read it, I just prefer HOLiC over Tsubasa and honestly haven't seen an impressively active fandom for it. I know people are always bitching about how they don't want their fandoms bigger, but I'd really like if HOLiC were as active and large as Tsubasa so there'd be some variety instead of the same old thing and more people to share a common love with.

I guess when it comes down to it, I don't hate Tsubasa for the attention, I'm jealous of it.

And that's what I think is funny when shipping wars start and people say they hate a pairing or even a friendship between two characters because they don't like one of the characters involved, I like Kurogane and Faye's dynamics, I just don't much care for Faye (and that's largely because I dated a girl way too much like him).

I miss those days with all of my dried out little fandom heart. ;_;

Yes, I know Tsubasa has it's flaws, can be long and drag at times.
But I love it anyway.

Though I did feel bad for the fans during that monster break.
