37. It is! You're so right! I miss all those geocities pages and how all the fan sites linked together on webrings. I kind of liked surfing through all those personal homepages just to find photos and links. I don't like I my search results always default to IMDB and Wikipedia now. I like those individual fan sites and the intimacy of the smaller internet. Just finding a fellow fan was exciting.

23, high five :D I got my A in my terrible core Western Civ class at NYU because I slashed Prospero and Ariel and wrote a brilliant paper for the prompt "master/servant relationship dynamics", even if I do say so myself. It's actually really amusing / addictive looking for textual support and analysing their interactions and motivations and all that for an actual class... Ariel/Prospero is my vaguely secret (not so much anymore, ha) pet literature OTP.

however, no shame! you don't need that shame! Shakespeare slashing ftw! (no, I couldn't help myself with the icon)

I haaaate the fact that they're connected because that stops me from leaving Tsubasa for good X__x Of course I'm still (kinda) there for Fay, but the main reason is because dammit the stories are intertwined and if I miss TRC I'll probably won't get something in Holic. And that pisses me off like you have no idea.

And not to any secret in particular, but could aply to many of the secrets today: I DON'T GET IT. It's probably because I am no active part of any fandom but there's always people who keep complaining and there's always people who tell the others to chill. I mean, if being in fandom pisses you off so much, then get away from it. And stop complaining, you could just go around and get the nice stuff and ignore the idiocy. Of course, if you like to actively participate in fandom you can do so, but.. I mean, isn't it all to have fun? Fandom shouldn't stress anyone out. Fandom shouldn't cause unnecessary discussions and/or fights. People should either grow up or learn to be a little more patient. I'm not trying to be bitchy here, but it makes me sad to read about people complaining everyday.

Manga/anime/whatever is supposed to make you relax, not otherwise :/

I miss those days with the Sailor Moon fandom ;,;
But you know, there still are fansites, it's just you have to dig deeper for them, and the people actually have to pay for space most of the time.
I just wish that normal fansites would becuase more common again and that the fanlisting sites (which are only updated once a year most of the time and nearly never finished or offer anything to the fans over than a main page and two pictures) had not come to be seen as a good replacement.

24) You're not the only one, but I love it myself. Still I think if something becomes well known or sold at Hot Topic and you suddenly don't like it anymore just becuase of the sort of people who just use it as a statement, then you were never really a fan whatever it was to began with. It came out when I was 12 and I have been a fan of it ever since then, the fact the teenagers want to wear it does not effect me at all. They will just move on to something else sooner or later anyway :)

20. Whenever I have people tell me the reason I hate a specific character is because he/she gets in the way of my ship, I roll my eyes and sigh, because more often than not, I hate the character for the character and not because he/she blocks my pairing.

Although people on both side of the character hate/love obsession are fun to laugh at. It's all fictional, why get so worked up over it? XD

Amen, sister!

I love spewing violent vitriol at characters I hate (because at least you won't hurt the character's feelings), but it is almost never because of a ship-block. (The only example I can think of where it would be is Mei in Avatar, but it's less because Mei/Zuko blocks my ship--which really wasn't gonna happen anyway--and more because I think Zuko being in a ship with such a two-dimensional character does a disservice to the complex character they've given him. He doesn't need to be in a ship at all! )

But seriously, if you're passionate about a fictional show(definition of fandom), it stands to reason you can be equally passionate about hating a character in it.

People always assume it has to do with a blocked OTP. Honestly.

24. Of course you're not. Not everyone is going to love everything. I hate Kill Bill, and everyone *seems* to love that. I adore TNBC but that's because it's a cute movie that came out when I was 13 and made a huge impact on me. (The nurses at the hospital were calling me Jack even before I'd seen it.) I wouldn't expect anyone else to automatically agree with me. That being said it, like many other fandoms has some SCARY ASS fans. *shivers*

I always thought Iago/Cassio was a good pairing too. Iago seems like the type to screw people (literally) in order to get what he wants, and I could always see him going after Cassio as part of his plan.

24. I'm so glad to see this secret. It's my absolute faaaaaaaavorite movie, but I was always a little concerned by how many people seem to love it. I know most things that appeal to me are not "conventional" - why in the world would everyone like the same quirky movie as me? So. Thank you for reaffirming that different things appeal to different people and nothing is universally beloved. :)

38. The only reason I ever picked up Tsubasa Chronicles was for the tie-in with HOLiC. I don't hate it, but I'm just not that interested in it, even when my characters interact with characters from the series. (For the record, I do like Fai a fair amount.) I'm still reading in the beginning of the series, but I adore HOLiC, so I certainly sympathize with you.

1. HAHAHA I'm not alone! I guess I like the french dub because it's the first version of the series I saw and I'm just used to the names.
And there's also the nostalgy you get from it - that french dub was a throwback to the era of Cracktastic Dubs and New "Improved" Theme songs. I mean, the techno opener they used for CCS was amazingly bad and had no link to the anime - there's no way this was anything but an hommage to all the horrible theme songs of the 1980's (shh, I like my illusions).

Also, the name Lionel just cracks me up.

4. I actually didn't care too much for Lucario until I raised one myself, but that person you described...is just insane. Lucario may be fairly good in a team, but he's not THAT great. o_o I'd pick Gallade and Mismagius over Lucario any day.
