Actually, I agree. He just seemed more interesting to me, and it's a shame fans either mistake him for Riku or just don't acknowledge that he's an actual character.

Sure, the rapists may not be realistic either, but in my opinion that doesn't excuse the "falling in love with your rapist" plot (or rather "falling in love with your rapist and having it be a happy, cute, fluffy thing instead of being indicative of psychological problems"). Then again, I'm not so much a fan of yaoi, so.
