This is taking me back to when either Protoculture Addicts or Animerica used to have short features on how to say Japanese words to become the best otaku you could be.

Foreign words can and have been adapted into English, and conjugated (and pronounced) with English rules.

I speak Japanese, and granted, "animes and mangas" sounds a little off (unless you're joking or whatever) but it's becomes totally acceptable, for example, to say ninjas.

And pronunciation? Well, how do you pronounce the word "karaoke"? I almost guarantee it's wrong, does that mean you aren't a real karaoke fan? In fact, if you, in English, pronounce "anime" the Japanese way, I think you're an annoying weeaboo.
