I think anon means that OP came across this book because all their friends were into the series and presumably recced the book to them.

It is weird that they've never heard of any other books called "___ of Kings" though. Like, just off the top of my head, Return of the King from LOTR. That's a pretty well-known book, not to mention it's way closer to the name of the site than the book in the secret.

That site is really shitty, but title similarity is a stupid reason for not reading something. Especially when it's something as generic as "x of kings" for a fantasy novel.

What about LotR's The Return of the King? Does it share the same fate?

Yeah, that site is terrible, but when that site just totally slams another site which is probably worse than returnoftheking, you know that other site is bad, especially when sites like 4chan and just everyone else who knows about said site basically say do not respond at all to these people, they are truly terrible.

It is freaking epic, and has an incredibly well-designed world and magic system, and there's a great big pile of characters to root for, and KALLADAN, and SPUNKY RESEARCH SORCERESS, and DIVINE STORMS, and they RIDE GIANT CRABS.

I think the second book just came out? As I recall Sanderson was sidetracked for many years because he was hired to finish...whatever that series is. Wheel of Time? That one.
