Ugh, I never got any huge creep!vibes from Jorah, and I'm forever confused by everyone's opinion of him. He's just a sad guy who fell in love with the wrong person and fucked himself over by making some profoundly stupid decisions. He's got a history of being used by women because he's such a fool for love. And yeah, he STILL thinks he has a chance with her, five books down the line. Because he's a dumb guy, with nothing and no one.

I don't think he's a saint, but the people who shove him into this entitled friend!zone archetype really rub me the wrong way. I think he's one of the more depressingly human characters of the entire series.

+1'd so very hard.

Seriously, this. It's also one of the many reasons I love Jorah, he's just so depressingly human.

Well, he never stopped to consider whether his 1st wife wanted to marry him before setting up that marriage, so he's not so much fucked over by love as he was fucked over by his own failure to consider the feelings of someone who wasn't himself.

His father arranged that marriage. And you know full well I'm not talking about his first wife anyway.

No, he pushes for the marriage because he saw her, thought she was beautiful, and wanted to marry her. And regarding Dany, it was his entitled view after he got revealed as a former mole that got him exiled, not "love."

No, his father arranged his first marriage, and from what he said about it, it didn't sound like he was all that willing. She died after miscarrying and he admitted that they loved each other after a fashion. His second wife he saw at a tourney, he won a lot because he asked for her favor and she gave it, he crowned her the queen of love and beauty or some such nonsense, and when he asked her father for her hand, the father, to Jorah's utter shock, said okay. She went with Jorah and they had a fortnight of happiness before the real world asserted itself at Bear Island.

Unless there's something in the later books to dispute the above, he's not the creeper OP makes him out to be. He's just a sad man who made bad decisions.
