I don't think he's that attractive, though much more so than book!Jorah. I agree that he's creepy, though. Part of me kind of shipped in season 2, but that quickly went away.

That seems more of an indicator of you being shallow more than anything else, as only 'ugly' guys can become creeps. Same with the people wishing Ramsay wasn't hot.

Yes, he comes onto her, but Dany considers it for a hell of a long time before deciding he's not ever going to work for her; it's not like it wasn't on her radar. Beyond that, it wasn't out of character for her to want to be with older men either... Jorah wasn't just perving out without context, since all of the men she sleeps with are older.

Plus, he's not creepy about it in the least! Just sad and pathetic and pining like dumb teenager. He tries to kiss her once and then backs off, the rest of the time he just does his best to be a loyal knight and advisor, and secretly mopes about the fact that she doesn't want him.

The only thing different about show Jorah is that he's better looking than book Jorah. Otherwise, it's being acted exactly how the books portrayed it, imo.

Ugh, I never got any huge creep!vibes from Jorah, and I'm forever confused by everyone's opinion of him. He's just a sad guy who fell in love with the wrong person and fucked himself over by making some profoundly stupid decisions. He's got a history of being used by women because he's such a fool for love. And yeah, he STILL thinks he has a chance with her, five books down the line. Because he's a dumb guy, with nothing and no one.

I don't think he's a saint, but the people who shove him into this entitled friend!zone archetype really rub me the wrong way. I think he's one of the more depressingly human characters of the entire series.

It's definitely creepy, but what does that have to do with attractiveness? someone can be attractive - perceived or conventional or both - and still be really creepy.

I don't really see how it's creepy, especially in the show where Dany is clearly an adult woman and he hasn't even made any move on her. I mean, his feelings are obvious but having feelings, even inappropriate ones, is considered creepy?

Well, think of it this way: if he was ugly, then you'd have all the whiners going "creep vs. not-creep has nothing to do with behavior and everything to do with whether or not he's hot!" This way, that whole argument is preempted. Yes, he's sexy, but she's Just Not Into Him like that, and that's all that matters.

I may be a bit behind because I'm just now dipping my toes in this whole Game of Thrones thing (just the show, not the books), so maybe I don't know but when exactly does Jorah "come onto" Dany? As far as I know, it's all loyalty and dedication to his Khaleesi and some puppy dog eyes. I don't recall any Nice Guy entitlement coming out of his mouth or any inappropriate touching going on with him towards her. So, um, examples of his creepiness?

Would it be nice for me if she'd look at him as a woman "gazes" at a man? Yes. However, that would ruin the whole dynamic of his unconditional support and loyalty to her as his liege and him as her Ser. It'd be like dating your boss, kind of. And I don't actually think she "owes" it to him to return his feelings, no matter how cute the actor is.

I'm far more annoyed that they chose an attractive actor to play Ramsay. The fact that there are now fangirls who want to have sex with him (despite him, y'know, raping and flaying every woman he meets) shows how fucking shallow people are. Especially since those same fangirls hate Joffrey, most likely because he has the nerve to be a misogynist shithead while not being ~hot like Ramsay.

Well, I cannot speak as to the show, but in the book? I did imagine him as good-looking and we get no real sense of her reaction to his political support and its motivation, actually. It is not all that clear that he IS actually interested (sexually, though yes politically, everyone has an agenda and he is definitely a father figure, mostly due to the lack of any other older male in her life than any gift for it, obviously) and it seems like she is interested in any and all ways to get a handle on people around her for her own goals and hardly cares either way as long as she is not physically threatened.

She definitely was traumatized by her initial experience of sex and does not seem likely to get over it any day soon, but then again I get the impression that people who watch the show think her marriage was the love story of the ages?

So obviously people's take on her situation and her opinion/reaction to the men around her is a bit more complex than you make it sound.

Certainly in the books he is not one of the characters explicitly described as physically repugnant -which is the majority of the male characters, now that I think about it- on the contrary, one gets the impression that he was probably quite good-looking once.
