29. I will freely admit that FF7 gets serious nostalgia for being My First. I also freely admit that the graphics just do not compare well to what we have nowadays, and that the translation is frankly pretty bad.

So what?

FF7's story moved, affected, and inspired me more than possibly anything else I've ever read, watched, or played. It sparked my imagination more than anything else. I still think the story was beautifully structured, the characters beautifully built, and I always seem to find something new on a replay.

So, you don't like it. That's okay. But it was a good game. It had objective problems, sure. So do the Compilation games. But they're all good games in their own right - the original included.

29. Heh. Uh, no. I'm currently going through my 9000th replay of VII and it's still amazing, sry2say. The music, the story, the characters, and the battle system (WTFWTF BRING MATERIA BAAAACK); none of that has anything to do with nostalgia. But I do agree with you on one point - compilation haters also drive me nuts. :/

I, too, fail to get all this Compilation hate. Sure, there's asspulls and WTFery abound (Remnants? Protomateria? Gackt? Really?) but I think all the compilation entries have their good qualities. I LIKED DIRGE OF CERBERUS, OKAY? I FUCKING LIKED DIRGE OF CERBERUS. >:(

But I still love the original game first and best~

24. Sonic has so many canons it's fucking ridiculous. SatAM, Archie, Fleetway, SEGA, and Sonic X. None of them are connected, except for SEGA and Sonic X. But Sonic X makes me want to stab myself. HEY, LET'S REPLACE TAILS WITH SOME WHINY HUMAN BOY AS SONIC'S BEST FRIEND. LET'S SHOVE FAN FAVORITE TAILS INTO THE BACKGROUND AND GIVE HIM A MARY SUE FOR A GIRLFRIEND. ALSO, LET'S MAKE THE CHAOTIX STUPID.

29. Obviously, since you hate the game, nobody else is allowed to like it, because it's not possible because you hated it and everyone is just deluding themselves, 'cause it's not like people can actually like different things.

I'm not even that big of a fan of FFVII. IX was so much better, and I fucking liked VIII, except for the half-assed Squall x Rinoa (Love story? Unless they're talking about Laguna x Raine, it's a horrible love story) and wtf Ultimecia. (I still believe she's Rinoa, even if SE said no.)

16. Paixao was my first RP, and even though I fell out of it, it's a wonderful place. It's great to see a secret about it. ^^

24. I can understand that. I like the games OK, but the game characters aren't nearly as interesting as SatAM's characters. The plots aren't nearly as...really interesting, either. And I don't like the voice for Sonic in the games, either, Jaleel White will ALWAYS be my Sonic.

Now that I think about, it sure seemed that way. XD

Wow. Someone who managed to find THE PERFECT MIDDLE GROUND to both piss of compilation fans AND haters. It might STUN YOU but most people who like the compilation like it because they LOVED that game you detest so much.

29. seriously? SERIOUSLY????? FF7 isn't the BEST GAME EVAAAR!!11 but it has fantastic replay value imo because there are differen't paths you can take often in the game that effect the character and outcomes for certain events. Sure compared to the graphics of the new FF7 junk it has no place in todays gameing world, but in terms of plot, character development and world building, it' some of the best i've ever played.

and even though i'm interested lightly in Zack story and DoC was nice looking but horrible gameplay and plot i just can't get over the fact that GACKT is now some random ansestor of Sephiroth. They'll never be better then a classic.

He's not an ancestor; he's an acquaintance. A batshit crazy acquaintance with an excessive fondness for dramatics, poetry, and the sound of his own voice.

Also an obsession with some goddess.

OMG I'M SO SORRY I MISSED YOU MY FIRST READ THROUGH BUT I LOVE YOU TOO.

Oh yeah. I read it and loved it, and thought Nick's thoughts about Gatsby were a bit sketchy, but didn't put much thought into it beyond that...but I totally want to re-read it again now to see if I pick up on the slashy vibes.

So yea. FF7 was the first RPG I have ever played. I note this bias. However, I do acknowledge that it was a very influential game; to say otherwise is folly. Yea, the game has flaws, but what game doesn't?

And as for the compilation hate- it appears to be that it's the slight changes that people are getting their panties in a bunch over. Case in point (and I forget who said this):

...The biggest thing that pissed me off was in Last Order. When Cloud attacked Sephiroth in the reactor he stabbed him in the Jenova room in the back. That was accurate. But when he followed Sephiroth out onto the catwalk above the Mako core Sephiroth stabbed Cloud and then willingly jumped into the core.

In the game the same thing happned, except on the catwalk Sephiroth stabbed Cloud and then in an amazing show of willpower, Cloud lifted Sephiroth off the ground from the end of the sword that was still inside of him, and THREW Sephiroth over the edge.

That's a huge change as far as im concerned. That is my single most favorite scene in the entire game. It showed that Cloud really wasn't as weak and useless as he thought. He actually stood up to the greatest soldier ever to live, and won. In LO it was just like he got a cheap shot and ended up getting his ass stabbed.

Jus' sayin'.

7.) Yo, wow, yea. I realized as soon as the characters were introduced that Rem and Misa were almost my idea of the perfect couple. Except of course I'd be dedicated to Rem, not that sexy douche bag, Light. Orochimaru just kind of rubs me the wrong way though, but I've always loved snakes so....
