How old is Tommen in the show anyway?

A lot older then in the book.

But even if not, she still didn't do anything other then be attractive in a kids room. As opposed to being attractive everywhere else.

I think he's somewhere between twelve and fourteen, based on the actor's age. Not sure how old Margarey is supposed to be, though.

Huh, Game of Thrones wiki (show-specific) says she's 17-19. That's a lot less creepy. Still creepy, but not 30yo-14yo levels of creepy.

Because being nice to a teenage boy that you'd end up politically marrying one way or another is TOTALLY the same thing as rape.

I thought this was a great scene.

I didn't mind Jamie's rape scene per say except that it destroyed his character development built over the previous episodes (not that I ever thought the show does any justice to any of the character developments, but it looked promising).

/I don't recall the other scenes you might be referring to because I mostly just have GOT running on my laptop while I exercise/wash dishes/whatever.

Until the show addresses the scene as a rape, I've written it off in my mental ledger as a fuckup by the showrunners that wasn't meant to be read as non-consensual. (Based on their comments, I think this is accurate?) Because otherwise a big chunk of Jaime's story has been obliterated.

Wait - are you saying she was trying to seduce him? Because wow that's not how I saw that scene AT ALL. Trying to "win him over", get some influence in there so Cersei doesn't poison him against his future wife, yeah. Sure. Definitely saw that. But I think she also kept it pretty fucking innocent because he's a goddamn kid and she knows that.

I'll admit at the very beginning of the scene I was all "Oh God, what is she going to DO" but it wasn't as bad as I expected, so eh.

bryan singer's gross sexual harassment and exploitative behavior is not anything new or surprising, that chicken hawk is well known for that shit and there are yt twinks all over hollywood that could tell you that.

if anything it's surprising it took this long for someone to come forward, he's disgusting.

I don't doubt his being gay makes it more 'exciting' for the media but not everyone who believes his accuser is straight. everyone I know who believes bryan singer is an abusive asshole is a part of gay hollywood.

It was a little bit creepy, but she didn't really do anything? She barely touched him beyond a kiss on the forehead. That and show!Tommen is at least a little bit older than book!Tommen. But it's not like Margaery molested him or anything.

... What? I mean yeah, that scene was definitely creepy, but calling it rape is going way too far. Grooming, yes.

In the context of the show it's not much, she did the same thing to Joffrey.

Seen through the modern idea of "rape culture" she's essentially grooming him and it's much different than teachers that rape their students. Just because an child seems into something doesn't mean an adult should do it. Yanno?

I think too many people are trying to interpret everything through morals now and making themselves nuts over it. Including what is and isn't rape of women. Ask Martin himself said, he can kill a ton of people but sex makes people complain.

It's really not the same. She's trying to get him on side by making friends with him. The fact that they're getting married off is creepy, mind.
