Pretty much my approach to all celebrities who are apparently disgusting human beings. I can think they're shitty and still enjoy their art.

I tend to draw the line at actual documented cases of being awful. This particular case is up in the air and quite suspicious, but, say, Roman Polanski is a convicted child rapist and I'll never watch his films. Orson Scott Card -- out.

Dave Mustaine? Sigh -- out. And I used to like Megadeth. Still do. But I think Dave started to lose the plot in 2004 and that's right around when his career started to tank. I refuse to listen to anything after The System Has Failed.

I've read a lot of the stories about this and apparently Singer (the director) was heavily involved in this twink party scene but everyone ELSE in this scene that talks about Singer says he was careful to only get involved with those of legal age, while talk about OTHERS involved in this party scene were much less choosy. So in general I call bullshit on the suit.

It depends on the specifics of the situation for me. Sometimes I can separate the actor/writer/etc's work from what they did. Sometimes I can't.

I don't know, maybe consuming so much British media lately, or even as far back as the Michael Jackson trial, has done this to me, but I'm all accusationed out. I legit do not care anymore about which celeb is accused of rape and sex assault this week. I was outraged when the tsunami of accusations started a couple of years ago, but there have just been so many that I'm taking it for granted that every actor, director, presenter, producer, PR guy, scene changer, shock-jock, you name it the job I'll name the scandal, in showbiz is doing the dirty on someone. I'll just accept that every single person in the industry is a rapist and a pedo now. I no longer have outrage for this, but just dull acceptance (and going forward from 2013 a faint curl of contempt for anyone who voluntarily associates with any showbiz type and doesn't expect to get raped) of it.

I'm just going to be a mindless consumer of the media regardless of the sins of the creator now.

Except for Vox Day and Orson Scott Card, those guys are just jackasses and you couldn't pay me enough to consume their works in any way shape or form.

I was excited about the movie but now all the promotional material looks mediocre. :( All of this is just another level of making me less excited for a movie I wanted to see.

I like how the internet didn't feel the need to boycott XMFC over Fassbender being an alleged woman-beater, but they're all over this now. Guess Singer isn't hot enough to make it okay, or maybe it's because it's not a woman on the other side.
