I have a shitload of OTP's, but I'm more passionate about McShep than most. The dynamic those two have delights me. I love how supportive they are of each other (even when they're bickering, or screaming), and how much they enjoy each others company, and the lengths they will go to in order to protect the other person. (Miller's Crossing, man. Never forget.)

I love when I post this because no one seems to know what I'm talking about: Wren x Triss from the Scions of Shannara tetraology; its rather odd actually, I tend to like people just be friends, but this is the only time where I feel like there has to be more to it than just being friends.

Ugh, I hate that I ship this so hard because it's both absolutely heartbreaking and frustrating as hell. They have so much chemistry, though. I was admittedly shipping the Professor and Magneto in the other movies as well, but First Class made it so much worse. (I mean... Come on, didn't they know each other like a week? That's some SERIOUS bonding. Then... Well, I don't know if you've seen DOFP yet, but those reactions. ..)

Man, idk, they're just ridiculous.

This ship is pain. So much love, but pain.

I don't know if I have OTPs I'd go down with like that... ships I consider OTPs are Snape/Harry (main OTP), Draco/Harry, Merlin/Arthur, Merlin/Gwaine, Dean/Cas (though my interest has severely waned), Starsky/Hutch, Korra /Asami (kind of... wish the canon was better), Morgan/Bess (like the only canon pairing I'm super in to). Londo/G'Kar is still a new thing I'm shipping, and I'm not even done with the canon but I LOVE THEM SO MUCH that I can't see myself not considering them an OTP.

I have a ton of ships I like, but faves would have to be:

Alex/Sophia from Last Exile! I'm actually writing an AU fic about them right now.

Riku/Namine from Kingdom Hearts. Even in the far too short time we got to see them together they just had such a connection, and understanding of one another to me. They were both people who had done something they knew was wrong and were trying to make it right again, no matter what the personal cost was.

Homura/Madoka from PPPM. It turned really dark after rebellion, but still ship it like fed-ex. I have very WIP head-canon for what happens after Rebellion:

Homura can only keep Mortal-Madoka from reuniting with the Law of Cycles-Madoka for the natural life span Mortal-Madoka would have. Like without being murdered, having an accident, getting sick and all that, because Homura will certainly not let those things happen. Madoka will grow old, and die eventually, and Homura just can’t do anything to prevent that no matter what she tries. When that happens Madoka resumes her place as the Law of Cycles, and Madokami’s order is restored. Only now, because of Homura’s interference, Madokami has the experience, and maturity of an adult. Homura on the other hand has remained an extremely broken teenager. This is the point where I'm not sure where to go further with the idea. There is a confrontation between Madokami, and Homucifer, and in typical PPPM fashion things are very not pretty for a while. Eventually Homura becomes Madokaami's enforcer, and protector though, making sure the incubators never, ever interfere with Madoka again. Also; Homura and Sayaka really never get along after what happened in Rebellion, but they tolerate each other for Madoka.

Han Solo/Leia Organa, but I got it easy, since the canon's been closed long before I was even born ;)

Why? BECAUSE. I can't give intellectual reasons for my love, I can only point out little fringe things that contribute to it: the fact that the romance is neither frivolous to the plot nor central to the plot, the fact that Leia's identity does not become just Han's love interest (if anything, that's what happens to *him* instead, but not in a bad way because he got his character development in the first half of the trilogy), and they managed to pull off the whole USTy bickering insulting slap-slap-kiss thing without seeming like their personalities were incompatible because their true personalities were not incompatible at all, their fighting was all a bunch of macho posturing (on Leia's side too tbh) and they totally quit it in ROTJ, and the fact that they fight side-by-side in the final battle on Endor, and the fact that *she* rescues *him* from imprisonment after actively scouring the galaxy for him, and the fact that they are not all wrapped up in each other but also have really strong friendships with Luke and Chewie and they put the mission ahead of their romance, and...and...and...just. *love*

I only really have canon OTPs, unfortunately. I don't really ship much at all, so I have very little motivation to go through the trouble of energetically shipping anything that's not made canon first, 'cause I'm really not interested in looking for romance. I've enthusiastically shipped a few non-canon pairings, but never to the point of OTP. The closest I ever got was comicsverse-only Captain America/Iron Man, but I can't quite claim them as OTP because Marvel comics and characters have been such a load of unlikeable crap for the past...like...decade, with characterizations that veer around so wildly I can't even really be sure who the fuck I'm even shipping.

I feel like I've discussed these two about a zillion times, but no matter. Ever since I found about about Cam/Arastoo, I've been a happy camper. There are lots of reasons I love it.

First, I love the superior/subordinate dynamic. I can see why that turns people off, but I adore the tension that stems from it. Second, an interracial couple in which neither party is white. I know it's a dumb reason, but it's just great to see. This aspect was actually addressed this past season, something that makes me happy. (Yes, it probably could have been addressed in more detail, but given that their relationship isn't primary to the show, I'll take what I can get.) Third, maybe it's just me, but Arastoo's characterization actually improved when he and Cam became romantically involved. The incredibly fragmented and inconsistent characterization the writers provided us started to make a little more sense starting with Season 8. There are still some gaps, but they might be tackled next season. We'll see. Finally, both of them have a balance of dedication to science and emotional intelligence. Their balances also complement each other really well. I've found that Arastoo's emotional intelligence resonates with Cam in the same way her no-nonsense approach to forensic integrity does with him. It's a good blend that resonates even with their flaws and relationship hiccups. I actually think they might be the sanest couple on the show, but I KNOW that's really going out on a limb.

TL;DR? I love the least popular canon ship on Bones, and I am proud of it!

Mulder/Scully. They're more than a ship, they developed an epic friendship that stands as one of the most powerful friendships depicted on television ever, through thick and thin- the best and worst of each other- they stood by each other and supported each other and saved each other, they respected each other, they were always willing to sacrifice it all for each other, but they were always true to themselves and their opinions through it all, despite how different they were. And for the vast, vast majority of their amazing, touching, awesome relationship, they were friends. I love the UST, sure, but their friendship is the reason I shipped them from the time I was twelve goddamn years old and I still ship them when I'm thirty. I wish more TV relationships were like theirs.

From Legend of Zelda, Link/Sheik (with Sheik as a separate character - I also love Zelda/Sheik, and, well, I like Zelda/Link as well, so hey, it's all good). I've shipped them for over half my life and probably will for a good long while.

And, more recently, Sycamore/Lysandre from Pokemon XY. Granted, that's only been around for eight months, not fourteen years, so time will tell how much I ship it in later years.

I have this strange feeling I hold onto OTPs long after I leave a fandom. My love of a pairing changes into a nostalgic fondness that can be affected if something happens after I've drifted off elsewhere. I still feel mildly annoyed that Ianto was killed off in Torchwood.

But my current OTP? Canon has no effect on them, because they never met, and both of them died. The nearest one of them came to a relationship I can handwave it as not being serious.

How many people are unaware of my OTP around here anyway? I'm hardly discrete about it, or about gossiping about my RP.
