Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been reading up on the YesAllWomen movement, and I have just one simple question.
Why?
Why do they hate us so fucking much?
What has womankind done to deserve such universal loathing and mistreatment?
Can anyone answer this?
On simple question - Why do men hate women?

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck #Yesallwomen. Go #Yesallcats

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Do all men hate women? I don't know, but I hope not.

From what I can tell of the YesAllWomen movement, it's a load of people who are very insecure, need someone to hate and pick on the minority that most gets their goat. In this case women, presumably because most women can sense their vitriol and instability a mile off and won't date the horrid f*ckers. Which makes them angry. Because, you know, entitlement.

Sad, pathetic wankers.

It is a joke. When Islamic militant leaders use your hashtag, you know you are a joke.

Here's what I need you to do.
Go out and register as an organ donor.
Then call your loved ones and tell them good bye.
Then lock yourself into a walk-in freezer and wait for your raw materials to be put to better use.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's probably not all men, but doesn't it fucking feel like it sometimes?
It doesn't make me feel any better knowing I'm being abused by insecure losers who just happen to have been born with the set of sex organs that give them the power to freely treat us this way. It doesn't matter any to me if the fucker is a walking waste of genetic material, what I want to know is how can we fucking stop them. I think they see the #yessallwomen thing as more of a trophy room of their abuses rather than a call to change, so what more can be done?!

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping it would draw attention to the issue and get people talking about it but that didn't happen.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-03 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT I feel like life is too short to let them get to me tbh. I've got better things to do with my life than try and engage people who are essentially trolls.

Re: Why

I have been at the same place you have on so many occasions. I got out of it by going numb.

Anyway, why do some men hate us? They hate us because they want and have power, and we threaten that. Not even by trying, either. We make them feel things that they can't control, and we can do something that they can't but which is completely necessary.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Because blaming someone else for all your problems is easier than facing your own mistakes.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
NOT ALL MEN!

Joking aside, when it comes down to it, it just has to do with what's socially acceptable I think. It's why men who are abused are never taken serious, because they are suppose to be MANLY. Woman are suppose to be small quiet and submissive, and when they aren't, the men out there who are walking bags of dicks feel threatened and entitled to "punish" them to prove their manliness. Obviously there's more to it than that, but I feel like that is a contribution factor to why woman are harassed by nasty men daily.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
They don't. But some, not all, but some in the #yestoallwomen movement want you believe in that because it furthers their own agenda. Now what that agenda is, I haven't any idea but they are going about it like they do have agenda because the hate toward males, all males, children included is unsettling. Like if they could eliminate the Y chromosome, they would.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Do you not think that there are any men who hate women, or who at least think lesser of them?

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no I'm sure there are men who hate women out there, just like there's probably women who hate men. Their are some very black hearted people out there. I'm not trying to say they don't at all. I know a lot of men who genuinely believe women are lesser people and it boggles my mind.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Naahhhhh. I used to know a few people who seriously and honestly wished they could kill all men, and I haven't seen anything like them coming from #YesAllWomen. Those people I knew were creepy, a Twitter hashtag is not.

The people using the hashtag do have an "agenda." Their agenda is to raise visibility of the shit women routinely go through at the hands of society. To point out that "not all men" is true but dodges the point spectacularly, and that women are usually not the ones saying or implying "all men" in the first place. To stand up and say that this is a legitimate problem we as a socitey have and it shouldn't be ignored. To let people know that Elliot Rodgers did not come out of a vacuum.

Everytime I see a thread called simply "Why..." it always makes me think of the avril lavigne song.

I don't think most men hate women. I think they are ignorant of the world women live in.

Thus our experiences and concerns are dismissed and minimized, which comes out to looking a lot like hate. It's not hate, but it damn sure can look like it from this side of the fence.

I suspect we do the same thing to them, honestly.

But because of the way our society is structured, one has more consequences than the other (see the whole "men fear women will laugh at them, women fear men will kill them" thing - these are not really meaningfully comparable).

Death threats

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
The creator of the hashtag YesAllWomen was given so many death threats she stopped/asked other people to stop using her tag. :/ THAT is why we need this shit. Because there are men out there SO THREATENED by the thought of women getting a leg up in the world that they resort to violence against any woman who tries. I'm also so fucking sick of 'feminazi'. Sorry a woman said she wouldn't fuck you, that doesn't mean what happened to you has anything to do with fucking genocide.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking of starting a new hashtag of my own. Maybe something like, #NoNotAllWomenEitherSpeakForYourselvesGoddammit.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Power. Somebody has to be on the bottom in a hierarchy, and if it isn't women, it'll have to be men, and some men are terrified of that, and not totally without reason, because it's nightmarish being nothing more than a somewhat appreciated object with very little voice or humanity. But in a hierarchy, in this case, patriarchy, somebody has to occupy that role nonetheless, and people who believe hierarchy of some sort is human nature and can't ever be dismantled, will fight tooth and nail not to be put in that role, to put someone else there.

Octavia Butler explored a lot about this concept in her Xenogenesis trilogy, wherein humanity's tendency towards hierarchy destroyed us, and then the survivors continued to destroy each other, and our inability to think past who should be on top enabled us to be manipulated by an alien race for their own ends. It was a pretty bleak and fucked up vision of humanity's future if we don't stop this alpha dog bullshit.

Re: Why

(Anonymous) 2014-06-04 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing that I really dislike about this whole discussion is that a lot of women actually believe that women would behave completely differently than men if they were in the position of power. Which is just silly.
