Re: Do you ever post here, making shit up about yourself?

I haven't, but when I plan out replies or posts that I never actually post for various reasons, I would most likely change my gender IF what I was asking/saying wouldn't really sound right/appropriate coming from a man's mouth (of course I'd only do this also if needing to know gender were important to the post).

Bruno Mars vs Hot Chocolate - Just The Way You Are (You Sexy Thing)

It is beautiful beyond belief.

Also, Katy Perry vs My Chemical Romance - Planetary Firework Go! (or something like that)

It just peps you up in the best way.

LOL fair enough!

The fandom at this point is quite small, don't make yourself miserable hating on those who aren't quite on your wavelength. I've had to make myself OK with a lot of things I'd never even consider because when the fandom was bigger there were more choices. Make peace with yourself and what's left of the fandom, it's better for the blood pressure.

Re: playing with balls

If sports were little more than backyard games, or at most semi-organized regional games, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

But the aggrandization of sports -- ballooning children's play into a massive industry that's worth billions if not trillions of dollars, leading to a colossal disparity in sports spending vs other forms of spending -- entertainment, research, education, infrastructure, whatever -- is inherently harmful, can we not agree on that? It's outsized, it's corrupt, and people who willingly participate in this and spend money to keep the sports machine running so it can mow over other aspects of our society are perpetuating that harm.

I don't view ballet as a sport. The primary difference is that it's putting on a show and showing an individual's prowess; the competitive aspect is strictly based on the complexity of the dancing, whereas with professional sports the competitive aspect is all-encompassing (two sports teams sportsing really hard to get the sports ball into the sports hole or whatever) and individual skill is reduced to numbers and statistics.

Forget the SGU part.

My parents homeschooled me for religious reasons but they still taught "real" science and history...idk where people get the idea that just because someone is religious they're making a warding-off sign against evil and clutching their pearls every time someone says something about THAT HEATHEN SCIENCE OMG

And do you seriously think that the majority of publicly-schooled kids, certainly in the US, are learning everything they need to know (from 'qualified teachers'), are given 'space to grow', and that there isn't bias? Le please.

DA

Addendum: Not the actual Magic the Gathering:Online, though. That one's just magic, but with virtual cards for the same prices.

Although it's nice when you want to play the occasional draft and have no RL friends who still play.

I'm behind and you've been answered, but I agree with the anon that said they seem to want to fit everything Disney into the show. They really like connecting the different stories and characters as well, so considering that they probably have plenty more to work with.

It's basic politeness. She made an innocent comment, you were preposterously rude, I took offense at your asshole behavior. Not SJW, just a firm believer that you shouldn't be a son of a bitch when possible.

Thanks, I'm not sure if I want to watch a depressing film about AIDS, but the one about Tiananmen Square sounds interesting.

The best way to browse f!s, of course! :) I'm just glad to see "comma splice" and "conjunction" in a f!s comment, lol. /grammar nerd

What makes me cringe in fic is not so much if there are one or two typos (happens to the best of us) but when I find several typos/errors and there's a huge thank-you to the beta at the top.

Fury wouldn't do it, so I don't. I wouldn't be able to convincingly argue with myself anyway. But I aploud those who do, I think it's fun.

Do me a favour and re-read the part where I talk about how much revenue the movie and video game industry brings in vs how much money goes into the sports industry and then come back. Thanks.

Except these writers hated Sheppard. So I never got any Gary-Stu vibe from him. Other than perhaps not dying a lot.

Ayrt

I'm a such a big cat lover and so that whole episode was what made me love Kuwabara so damn much. I liked him before, but after that he was my favorite character from the show. And he only got even more awesome after that.

To keep things short, Kuwabara was the best character on that show. Which says a lot because Yu Yu Hakusho had a ton of fantastic characters

My mom gets me to do her online banking for her, so if I wanted to I could steal from her for years without her knowing. She is pretty lucky I'm not a sociopath and/or a junkie, lol.

Also, I've always thought that I'd be pretty good at shoplifting if my conscience ever got erased. It would be so easy in malls in particular, and having worked in retail for several years I know most of the blind spots of shop assistants.
