13. XDD That cracked me up, because I know exactly what you mean.

But it also made me kind of sad, because sometimes (and I have no idea why) but my journal won't space the first, what, two paragraphs of my story, no matter how hard I try - but the rest of it is spaced. I couldn't help but think, "I wonder if this person's x'd out of any of my stories because s/he thoought it wasn't spaced correctly at first glance. D:"

But then I realized that was probably pretentious, considering I'm far from a BNF and my ships are crazy weird, so chances are you haven't. XD

8. *sigh* I sort of agree with half of this secret. It is annoying when SW fans dismiss the EU and refuse to have anything to do with it, lumping the more ridiculous plots/authors with everything else. Although, I can understand refusing to read LotF as opposed to some of the earlier books, so maybe I don't agree after all? I really don't like what Del Rey has done to many of the characters.

Which brings me to the part that I disagree with. Obviously you have a right to be annoyed by people that take something seriously that you apparently don't. But I think that some people just choose to take certain aspects of their fandom more seriously than others, and that should be okay. I can poke fun at many of the things in the SW Expanded Universe, certainly. But that doesn't mean I can't delve into the psychological aspects of the characters, their personal growth, actions, etc. I enjoy doing that, especially when I get a chance to discuss it with the authors. There's a difference between serious debate about what goes on in the books (and yes, that might include some complaints. I'm not going to agree with everything that happens, particularly not in LotF.) and insisting that everyone agrees with you or takes it as seriously. Anyway, I just don't quite understand the frustration about something that kind of varies from person to person.


33. The wording in this secret is confusing to me. I take it the OP likes Carter? I think it's because it says people should apologize for saying she's not so bad, which made me think that the OP did think she was bad. But I think I understand now. They're saying a statement like that is too little, too late.

Anyway, while I risk inciting the rage of the Carter-hating anon, I've always enjoyed Amanda Tapping's character. I honestly don't understand how she's a "whore," and no, I really don't need to hear the argument for it, I'm familiar with it, thank you. She's a strong, complex woman who started out in the program having to prove herself in a world of men and eventually came into her own as a leader and friend. She's brainy without being relegated to the role of the girl who solves things and then gets left out while the men have all the fun. I don't hate Weir or anything, but to be honest she has always kind of bored me. I can't help that, it's just true. I liked her a lot in the episode "The Real World," but that's about it. That doesn't mean that I would go around ranting about how awful she is, it's just that she isn't all that engaging to me. However, I really like Teyla. She's one of my favorite characters on Atlantis.

15. You can just say, "I like listening to Original Soundtracks." or "I'm listening to foreign music." It's nothing to be terrified about. Just generalize it so it doesn't sound weird. I usually say that when people ask me. It's my friends who tell the whole world I listen to soundtracks and japanese/other language music which gets me embarrassed...though I usually get the, 'Wow. Cool!" kinda deal.

14. I really never thought YYH had any more fanbrats than any other series, really. Then again, I haven't been involved with the fandom for a few years.

I'm not inclined to entirely agree with your post because I'm sick of putting energy into stressing over failing storylines (except Naruto, that just pisses me off to the point where I can't read it any longer), but I will say, I agree with your Tokka declaration. I just hope it won't bomb like my Potter ships did when they became canon (since I'm quite certain Tokka will happen).

14. Actually, neither did I. I've heard from some friends that are in both the Inyuasha and Yu Yu Hakusho fandoms that Inyuasha is much worse, and there always seems to be SO MUCH WANK in the HP fandom. *shrugs*

18. Hnh, I've been loving season 3 pretty hard so far (even The Beach- it made me a little uncomfortable at first because, wtf, this is Avatar. But it was a nice synthesis between parody and some *actual* character commentary and... and it made me laugh. It made me laugh so hard XD).

I just wanted to second you on the "Sokka and Toph belong together" note. I like the canon pairings and think they're well written, but there's just something *special* and natural about Sokka/Toph, darn it, I ship it so hard I feel silly. D:

I beg your pardon?

Spinel asked him in his first appearance why wasn't he wearing a male uniform, and he reiterated that concept throughout the manga, so he's at least "basically" a guy.
Oh, so he's a girl because he acts like one... and does that completely override his lack of secondary sexual female characteristics, I.E. boobies? I know he doesn't have a wang either, but...

Whatever. Just give it a rest. Way to ruin my first serious secret, folks.
