39. Quite honestly? Fandom is a religion. That's a metaphor. I mean, look at those fans who treat their ships like the most sacred thing ever. And "shipping"? It's generally accepted at coming from the word "relationship" but what about to "worship"? And to convert someone to a series?

1. As long as you don't ship them in a fluffy way, I totally think that pairing is the hottest hot ever to hot, and you cannot convince me there wasn't something going on there.

Not Secret: Text is really fucking hard to work with. Just a wild guess, here. Also, sometimes text clutters an icon. Pretty much all of those icons in your secret would look worse with text, imho.

I don't know about that.

I think that fandom for some people fills the same niche as religion does for others, just without (usually) the belief that these characters are somewhere, somehow, real. There are enough "this series/fandom/character changed/saved my life" secrets posted here to tell you that – and I've met enough Christians who squee, for instance, over how certain pop songs can be interpreted as about Jesus in a way rather reminiscent of fans.

If you're c&ping from Word and LJ posts it as a different font than Verdana, then you're probably using the special format input and need to start using the html input... like everyone else.

N!S. I used to hate textless icons too, but over my years of RP-ing and only having so much space for icons, I've come to realize that icons with text specify emotions too much a lot of the time, so I've been using more the of the textless ones. But, eh, that's just me. And I still make most of my icons with text anyway. >.>

not!secret: Yeah, unless they're totally hilarious/cracky, I find text icons are hard to use in places. Like, if you're commenting on an entry about someone's funeral (I don't knooooow, this is all hypothetical) and you use a sad/serious icon, if it says something like "<- so not emo" it kind of just RUINS IT and the versatility is dramatically lessened and I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore so I'll shut up. also, slkdj;l hofuck I am so afraid of that upper left corner icon. ;_;

N!S - Most icon makers can't pull off text well. Text is difficult to integrate and think of, and with manga icons especially, I don't like text as much. With anime icons, I like to see some text, cause it makes it more than a screencap with a few minor adjustments. I rarely use text when I make icons anymore myself, nor do i use icons with text very often.

13) It doesn't bother me so much as long as they don't try throwing really strange formatting in -- like tables and entirely-indented paragraphs and things... I'd prefer to be directed to a hyperlink that sends me to some kind of website, at that point.

Not!secret) Personally I like textless better because I am shit horrid at adding text to icons and making it look good. It looks much nicer and prettier imo. Plus I see alot of text icons where the text is so overused and unoriginal to the point that I'd rather the icon-maker not have bothered with the text in the first place.
