Re: What grinds your gears?
Yes, being so sensitive that brushing against something can sometimes give me bruises, someone smacking my arm or back playfully feels like being punched, or even just staying in one position to long causes pain when I try and move is all in my head.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-24 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)Anyway, I'm not a doctor or anything, but my mother has fibromyalgia, and she has the exact same symptoms that you describe. Have you ever considered getting checked out for it? She's been on meds and doing physical therapy since she was diagnosed, and both have helped a lot.
Re: What grinds your gears?
The sad part was, that nurse said that about it being psychosomatic AS I'm giving her paperwork from my family doctor/rheumotologist to be put on modified scheduling (so that they couldn't schedule me more than five consecutive days because that's pretty much my limit).
So she was telling me it was in my head even while faced with evidence that it clearly wasn't. ¬.¬;
And yeah, I find physio helps a lot, as does basically just keeping myself in check, not pushing myself even if I feel guilty for not doing ~all the things~. Has your mum tried acupuncture? My phsyiotherapist said he's had people show results with that, but I'm a bit too chicken to try it. XD

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 04:44 am (UTC)(link)The treatments will be very different, sure, but I still think it's very important to treat both!
