Have you ever forgotten how to do something that you had no problems doing previously? Or forgotten a fact you have known forever?

I finally got around to cleaning my A/C unit today. And I realized that I have forgotten how to use a socket wrench. I knew how to use one a couple months ago but I had to YouTube it today. And I still had trouble using it.

I also regularly forget the name of Jude Law. I have no idea why.

We had ties as part of the school uniform for somewhere between six and twelve years, depending on which school I was in at the time (I went through three primary schools). I used to be able to tie a tie in my sleep (roll sideways out of bed, throw on shirt and skirt, fumble a tie while trying to remember what day it was), and even now I only need a minute or two of fiddling before I remember the motions.

Indoctrinate people young, apparently things stick.

once my dad was at the public pool and he forgot to swim mid-stroke and almost drowned. this is a thing that happened.

sometimes when i'm drunk i forget how to tie my shoelaces or use a fork/spoon. this has led to many moments of drunken hilarity. i also tried to ride a bike while drunk. not a good idea (i broke my cool sunglasses :( ).

Ahaha. Forgot mid-stroke? Damn. That is one hell of a brain fart (which is totally a scientific term). And yeah, I bet drinking can exacerbate forgetting random things.

I forgot how to clean my bathroom properly for some reason recently. Decided to use glass cleaner for everything! Because why not. *covers face in shame*

Also, I often forget my teeth are not cracked and broken like in my dreams.

I often forget I am no longer in school even though my dreams try to scare me otherwise. >:C

And I know how to clean, but I still use glass cleaner for a lot of stuff it should not be used for.

Every so often when I was in school I'd completely forget how to get to one of my classes, even though I'd been going regularly every day on autopilot.

I don't do that in real life but I have nightmares about it. Also of realizing at the end of the semester that I had a class that I didn't know I had. So I never went but the exam is that day. D::::;

I recently keep forgetting which direction gives hot and cold water when I turn the armature of the tap. I do it right without thinking, but a few weeks ago, I actually couldn't remember (and it didn't help that the water takes a long time to get warm so even though I was more or less sure that I turned it to hot, it stayed cold). It was actually kind of disturbing - my mind was completely blank at that moment. And it's happened a few times since...

I've forgotten logins before because I thought about them. If I just let my fingers type them automatically without thinking about it, I'm good.

All the time, but I forgot how to remember a specific thing and I had to take a few minutes to remember a specific example and it was...
I forgot how to lock my door (it's a weird keycard system)

When I was in the process of learning another language, once or twice I forgot how to say a random word in English. Someone would have to remind me of the english word. They weren't words I commonly used, but they were still words I knew, so it was weird that I could only remember it in a language I wasn't even fluent in.

Yup, I probably do this more often than is healthy, lol. Mostly names of celebs or people I don't know much about. (One time I forgot how to get to my DVR recordings. It's a very simple process that I go through constantly, so not sure how that happened. The mind is a fragile thing. Or my mind is, whatever.)

And I'm terrible at passwords. I try to create a ~unique~ password for every site and they tend to be so random that even I can't remember them. I reset passwords a few times every year for most my accounts.

I forgot how to ride a bike, I always get people telling me that it isn't possible but it really is because I managed it.

And Maths, I can't ever get it to stick no matter what I do which is more than a bit aggravating.

I recently forgot to bring the dog when I was told to walk the dog. I walked out, went partway down the block thinking "...hm something's missing" and then was like "... oh shit" and went back.

In my defense I had a lot on my mind.
