Dashcon is a convention for tumblr users, held for the first time this weekend. Yesterday the organizers made an official post saying they need 17k by this morning or else all dashcon attendees get kicked out of the hotel. Even tho they paid for their rooms. Because the hotel is evil and this is totally not a scam.

I have never seen a con look so....bland and small before. even the local ones in my state/city are FUN. Yikes.

I feel like the con goers should get their money back, but at the same time...how could you spend money on that when it sounded like crap to begin with...?

Kay, here's what probably actually happened:


Some assholes from 4chan got on tumblr, said "hey lets go invade 4chan and show those patriarchal fuckers what's what!" and had lulz.

Poe's law kicked in, real SJW's got involved. Lulz potential intensified.

4channers laughed as tumblr's pissed in an ocean of piss.



Counter invasion was 20 times worse.

That was my thought, too.

Except the people who ran LPU actually have (had?) a shady history of questionable business ventures. Dashcon is basically a bunch of teenagers/barely young adults who have no clue on how to run an event professionally.
