F!S Anon Meme (the Tenth?)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it!

Why horrifingly?

Because real rape isn't like that? Because it's not a wonderful romantic experience?

But what does that have to do with stories where it is a wonderful romantic experience?

NAYRT here. Some people are horrified by the depiction of rape as a wonderful romantic experience. Sometimes the reader wasn't aware of the trope and is thinking "Wait... they just described rape... why are they seeing it as a good thing?" And sometimes there is more of a connection between what we read and what happens in real life than I think most people in fandom want to admit.

I don't think people who write it is a wonderful romantic experience see it as rape, nor do the readers who are fine with what they're reading. Keywords are always "surrender", "passion", "seduction", etc. They're laying out their fantasies where consent is given/taken in the way they prefer.

AYRT - Yeah, I agree with this and that's part of the reason it's so uncomfortable to people who aren't used to those conventions.
