Well, personally I was rooting for Germany because I felt like they had played the best and deserved to win and also because they had played the cleanest game and hadn't done anything that would make me mad if they won (cough:Brazil:cough).

Not really sure I'd root for a team solely for the attractiveness of their players. I think Spain has the hottest players, but I was never rooting for them. Also, several of the Dutch players are hot and I was rooting for Argentina.

like who? lol i'm German and look-wise i don't really fancy any of them. Except maybe Müller because he looks so normal in a funny way and has scary teeth and he's so smart <3 Thats nothing to do with looks really but i've had much beer and things like winning the world cup won't happen again anytime soon:)

LOL I've talked to a few German girls at various football fandoms in the past and they always tend to say that they don't find the German players attractive either.

I personally find many of them attractive. I've always had a super soft spot for Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Philip Lahm. I also think Mats Hummels is a major fox/sexy beast/super attractive man. I also think Manuel Neuer is extremely good looking. I agree with you about what makes Mueller so attractive, he's so cute and nerdy looking. I also think Toni Kroos and Mario Gotze are cute but they look really young, like young teenagers. LOL I also think Jarome Boateng is really good looking and fit and I like his fashion sense. I also think Miroslav Klose is really good looking for an older man. I also think Ozil can be pretty cute sometimes, other times not as much. And he didn't make it onto the team this year because of injuries but I think Mario Gomez is pretty good looking too (even if he reminds me of Marty McFly's dad, George McFly, from Back to the Future).

I'll also give a special shout out to Michael Ballack, who's been entertaining as a commentator on our sports channel in the US. I think he's so hot and I've been pretty obsessed with him for years. LOL

But you know, different strokes for different folks. I just find myself highly attracted to most of the German players.

I've been a fan of Germany since they hosted in 2006, when I first got into watching football. I live in the US so interest here isn't as high as the rest of the world, but by the 2006 World Cup I was pretty interested in learning more about the sport and the players. I really came away from the World Cup liking Germany, so they've been my favorite national team since. It's kind of weird, I know, because I'm not German (I'm Asian American actually LOL), but damn it, I love this team so much! I was so glad to finally see HAPPY Basti at the end of a tournament rather than sad Basti (which always tore me up in the past).
