The fact that Eric is kinda horrible is part of his charm. Why would anyone want him to be better than Bill?

Weellll there's a difference between wanting him to be better and denying that he's horrible.

Go on tumblr, there are people who think bill's this evil manipulator, that he killed gran (or glamored Rene into doing it), that he raped sookie in the graveyard, ect

IDK, go ask ONTD.

Those types of people don't do logic, man. They do "I like this character, therefore I hate these others who I perceive as competition."

They're all horrible. But some of them are entertainingly horrible. And that has made all the difference.

I think the difference for a lot of people is whether or not the bad things they do get downplayed or not. Cersei's bad characteristics are never downplayed--Tyrion's are.

That said, show Tyrion is definitely the best person in all of these situations.

IDK if I'd rank Book!Jaime up there with Cersei or Eric. He's at least tried to become a better person.

I fully admit Cersei is horrible, but I still don't like Tyrion.

No one cares honey.

For me, it's that Tyrion became a worse person, while Jaime became a better one, and Cersei became stupider, but no more evil.

I'm not sure if Cersei became stupider, personally, or if she simply was no longer being held in check + we got a POV.

Eric and Pam are awesome and Bill isn't. Oh, the "Sookeh is mahn" times... I only like Bill when he's with Jessica.

The Lannister siblings are... difficult people. I'd say Cersei is the worst one, then Jaime, then Tyrion.

Game of thrones arguments about characters are always pretty interesting, because it's not a world where the "good guy" sticks around long or stays a good guy. I know we all want to defend our favorites, but it does often get to a point where it seems like people are being too defensive of a character who is in text extremely horrible.

I see this with Cersei a lot, I think her fans just tend to be hyper defensive because she gets a lot of hate in the neckbeard circle of the fandom.

I like all the Lannisters, but it's definitely a "they've got interesting stories and can be amusing" kind of way. They're all fucked up.

The ASOIAF fandom is notoriously good at this. Vilifying some characters while woobifying characters who have done equally horrible things.

Pam, Eric, Cersei, and Jamie are loved because they "own" their awfulness. At least that's the excuse I see thrown around all the time as a defense.

They're bad people but they know it so it's they are so much better than everyone else! Whatever.

I don't think any of the vampires are good people lol. But bad boy charm, you know. I like Eric because he's a good character, not a good person. The same goes with the rest. I could root for Pam/Eric because they're interesting as characters rather than seeing them do the bad things or whatever.
Also because good usually always wins on tv every other way would be refreshing.
