For some reason his eyes are weirding me out.

Give it time, OP. Then it will go the way of all her other relationships.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
they seem to be slightly drifting apart (his eyes, I mean).

Curiously I've seen at least 3 different pictures of 3 different people with light strabismus tonight (this is in itself is not strange, I just usually don't see any so it's remarkable to me)

friends gonna friend

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So, you're close, personal friends with both of them to know their real personalities and not the ones put out there for the public?

+1

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's really annoying when people assume the relationship dynamics between two people if they don't know either personally. Even then, unless one of them is saying they're unhappy and/or dislike the other person in the relationship, you have no idea what's going on.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh. If your outward behavior is heinous, I think it'd be really hard to argue that you're a sweetheart on the inside, though lots of people try. ("I have an awesome friend! But they have this bad habit of telling me I'm fat all the time...") The other way around is easier.

Keep in mind I have no idea who that guy is, though.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It depends on if those insults are actually meant to be insulting tbh. My longtime best friend and I call each other dickhead sometimes, but it's meant to be endearing. We also have fake capslock fights that are meant to be jokes.

I can see what you mean by frenemies who might say something like, "You look good in that for someone who is a size 14." But assuming you know the relationship dynamics between two people who might have their own sense of humor or personality quirks behind closed doors is a bit presumptuous.

I think 10 years ago this may have held more truth, but in the world we live in now of practically zero privacy for celebrities I don't think that's so much the case. Even the most talented actor couldn't keep up a fake nice persona all the time for every interview, appearance, and tweet. It's definitely more difficult to weed through sensationalized articles and one time freak outs, but the longer someone is in the limelight the more the public gets an idea of who they are. Of course, not on a personal level, but you could figure out if someone is genuinely sincere or has an unfavorable attitude about them.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
idk, I think Swift actually comes off as pretty likable and cute in some of her interviews, especially when she's talking about her cat or about how much she likes going antiquing.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-25 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
This. I think it's very telling that people are so misogynist and hateful nowadays that Taylor Swift is demonized just for being a good friend.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't say I know the personality of either person, but if you like one so much, why assume that he's wrong? He knows her personally, you don't. Seems awfully vindictive to dislike a person you don't actually know and hate on her friendships.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You've never had a friend who is friends with/in love with/dating/married to a loser asshole? That's very fortunate then, but I think you'll find this is really, really common. Being likeable isn't the same thing as having good judgment.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-25 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
But the difference is that you don't personally know either person.

Eh. I've seen too many Nice Guys and Nice Girls (or in extension, the friends of Nice Guys and Nice Girls who get a watered down version of events) use that as an excuse to dog on their crush or their crush's gf/bf. Confirmation bias tends to cloud people's judgment on who is an asshole and who isn't.

It's really a case by case thing and isn't nearly as common as the stereotype that nice people date jerks would have you believe.

I always thought Ed Sheeran is what Crookshanks would look like if he was human.

I totally see it.

This is the best comment! I'd never have thought of that, but I can totally see it!

I have no opinion on either of them because I don't follow them at all but I don't think it's really your business who they decide to befriend or not.

One thing I've noticed about online fandom is this weird trend of people thinking who someone is friends with... or worse who their family is can be an accurate reflection of who they are. It's not. Take a second and think about the people in your life, do you 100% agree with everything they do? I think we all have friends who do things we don't agree with, especially if someone is more an acquaintance then a friend I think it's easier to have a good relationship with someone then a bad one, even if you're really different.

Nothing really to do with the secret

But, for few months, whenever I would see a picture of him, I thought he was the guy from Fall Out Boy. Only then I heard him say something and I looked it up and, no, he is not Patrick Stump (though there was a point where he did look an awful lot like that).

wow, what a shocker that two people who have no idea you exist wouldn't consider your opinion a deciding factor in their friendship. it's almost as if... taylor's friends know her way better than you do
